The 1968 earthquake destroyed the Sicilian town Gibellina. The citizens were then moved into a New City drawn by the Institute for Social Building Development ISES in a plain formerly used only for agriculture. How to give identity to an urban infrastructural system spread between fields? Quaroni and Anversa, who were comissioned to construct the building of the main church, combined the necessity of identity with a symbol of the city's rebirth project. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot atmosfēras piesārņojuma (smago metālu, slāpekļa un NOP) telpisko izplatību un temporālās izmaiņas Latvijā, izmantojot Pleurozium schreberi sūnās. Pētījumā bioindikācijas monitoringa ietvaros kartēts smago metālu un slāpekļa saturs Pleurozium schreberi sūnās visā Latvijas teritorijā. Pētījums ir iepriekšējo gadu (1990, 1995, 2000, 2005) veikto smago metālu depozīcijas monitoriga turpinājums. Background Because ixodid ticks are vectors of zoonotic pathogens, including Borrelia, information of their abundance, seasonal variation in questing behaviour and pathogen prevalence is important for human health. As ticks are invading new areas northwards, information from these new areas are needed. Taiga tick (Ixodes persulcatus) populations have been recently found at Bothnian Bay, Finland. We assessed seasonal variation in questing abundance of ticks and their pathogen prevalence in coastal deciduous forests near the city of Oulu (latitudes 64–65°) in 2019.
