The Extracellular δ-Domain is Essential for the Formation of CD81 Tetraspanin Webs

AbstractCD81 is a ubiquitously expressed member of the tetraspanin family. It forms large molecular platforms, so-called tetraspanin webs that play physiological roles in a variety of cellular functions and are involved in viral and parasite infections. We have investigated which part of the CD81 molecule is required for the formation of domains in the cell membranes of T-cells and hepatocytes. Surprisingly, we find that large CD81 platforms assemble via the short extracellular δ-domain, independent from a strong primary partner binding and from weak interactions mediated by palmitoylation. Traces of the past: an interview study with Finnish war children who did not return to Finland after the Second World War

ABSTRACTThis paper is an in-depth qualitative study based on interviews with 10 Finnish children who were evacuated to Sweden during Second World War and who did not return to Finland after the war. The interviewees were asked to tell about their lives. Nine of them were between 2 and 5 years and one was 7 years old at the time of evacuation. The aim was to study how their childhood experiences were reflected in adult memories, how they remembered or did not remember. The ongoing internationalization of audiovisual media increases the need for new ways of overcoming linguistic barriers. In Germany, where the common technique has always been dubbing, subtitles are however becoming more and more popular. The present article will deal with the application possibilities of subtitles in audiovisual translation with reference to humoristic elements. Esports phenomena have grown rapidly in recent years, and so has research on the topic. Some of the research has also addressed esports fandom (see e.g. Taylor 2012). Nevertheless, studies comparing and contrasting how players and fans engage with the game and the esports based on that game are scarce. Darbā apkopots teorētiskais materiāls par naratīva un kino semiotiku, kā arī apskatīta teorija, par tekstu savstarpējām attiecībām un intertekstualitāti. Darbā ietverta metodoloģija, kas skaidro naratīva un semiotiskās analīzes pielietojumu tālāka pētījuma veikšanā. Intertekstualitātes jēdziens skaidro, ka teksti ir veidoti un pamatoti uz citiem agrāk uzrakstītiem tekstiem. Darbs pēta intertekstualitātes īpatnības Eiropas Padomes prezidentūras atskaitēs. Darba mēŗkis ir izpētīt intertekstutalitātes teoriju, izpētīt tās klasifikāciju, galvenās funkcijas un veidot stabilu pamatu empīriskās daļas pētījumam, lai pētītu intertekstuālās attiecības piecos Eiropas Padomes prezidentūra pārskatos.

Šī pētījuma galvenais mērķis ir noteikt Forbes konferences rakstveida žanrus, to retoriskos posmus un soļus (moves and steps). Astoņas konferences no Forbes tiešsaites kalpoja kā pētījumā prieksmets, lai izpētītu tai raksturīgus žanrus. Darba pirmā daļa balstās uz sekundāro avotu izpētī par žanriem, intertekstualitāti, retorisku posmu un soļu struktūru. Otrājā daļa ir aplūkota empiriskā daļa, kas ietver sevī konferences rakstveida žanru noteikšanu, to posmu un soļu struktūru un to lingvistisko iezīmju analīzi. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir pierādīt Bībeles un reliģiskās sfēras fona zināšanu būtisko lomu protestantu reliģiskas literatūras tulkošanā. Šim nolūkam, kā protestantu literatūras klasiskais piemērs, Čarlza Sperdžena sprediķi tika analizēti no žanra pazīmju, tajā skaitā Bībeles intertekstualitātes, skatu punkta. Pētījuma teorētiskajā daļā ir aplūkoti intertekstualitātes un žanra koncepti, kā arī izpētītas dažādas pieejas reliģisko tekstu tulkošanā.
