Reāllaika laikrindu analīze prognozēšanai un anomāliju detektēšanai
2021
2007
Alternating the verbal tenses in the past in written texts demands to take into account differences in aspects not frequently seen in spoken Spanish. According to López García (2005: 162) the system of five simple tenses (vengo, venía, vine, vendría, vendré) covers the expressive needs of the Spanish speakers, although children use less than adult speakers who rarely employ other forms. Problems come up when instead of speaking Spanish, we need to write it and read it. This necessity changes the range of verbal tenses completely, since it is essential for articulating a text, to clarify plainly that some events happen before or after others, in other words, secondary indexes of reference ar…
Effect of temperature on the orthodontic clinical applications of NiTi closed-coil springs
2013
NiTi spring coils were used to obtain large deformation under a constant force. The device consists on a NiTi coil spring, superelastic at body temperature, in order to have a stress plateau during the austenitic retransformation during the unloading. The temperature variations induced changes in the spring force. Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of the temperature variations in the spring forces and corrosion behaviour simulating the ingestion hot/cold drinks and food. Study D esign: The springs were subjected to a tensile force using universal testing machine MTS-Adamel (100 N load cell). All tests were performed in artificial saliva maintained at different t…
Systematic Synthesis and Properties Evaluation of Dicationic Ionic Liquids, and a Glance Into a Potential New Field
2018
Dicationic ionic liquids (DILs), a subset of the ionic liquid (IL) family, have attracted growing interest in recent years, and the range of applications within which they are investigated is constantly expanding. However, data which allows structure to property correlation of a DIL is still limited, and thus selecting an appropriate salt to address a specific challenge can be problematic. In comparison to traditional ILs, DILs physico-chemical properties can be tuned by changing the length and type of spacer which connects the cationic heads as well as the type of cation. This in turn could give rise to symmetrical or asymmetrical DILs. In this work, a systematic study of a homogeneous cla…
Assessment of age-related skin changes using hyperspectral polarization imaging
2019
Abstract We report a development of hyperspectral polarization imaging approach for assessment of age-related skin changes. The degree of residual polarization is used as a quantitative marker of the age-related pathological malformations. The developed approach in frame of express analysis of the degree of residual polarization in each pixel of the image are shown.
FIMic: design for ultimate 3D-integral microscopy of in-vivo biological samples
2018
In this work, Fourier integral microscope (FIMic), an ultimate design of 3D-integral microscopy, is presented. By placing a multiplexing microlens array at the aperture stop of the microscope objective of the host microscope, FIMic shows extended depth of field and enhanced lateral resolution in comparison with regular integral microscopy. As FIMic directly produces a set of orthographic views of the 3D-micrometer-sized sample, it is suitable for real-time imaging. Following regular integral-imaging reconstruction algorithms, a 2.75-fold enhanced depth of field and [Formula: see text]-time better spatial resolution in comparison with conventional integral microscopy is reported. Our claims …
Development of a three-dimensional cell culture system based on microfluidics for nuclear magnetic resonance and optical monitoring
2014
A new microfluidic cell culture device compatible with real-time nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is presented here. The intended application is the long-term monitoring of 3D cell cultures by several techniques. The system has been designed to fit inside commercially available NMR equipment to obtain maximum readout resolution when working with small samples. Moreover, the microfluidic device integrates a fibre-optic-based sensor to monitor parameters such as oxygen, pH, or temperature during NMR monitoring, and it also allows the use of optical microscopy techniques such as confocal fluorescence microscopy. This manuscript reports the initial trials culturing neurospheres inside the micro…
Investigation on Application of Basalt Materials as Reinforcement for Flexural Elements of Concrete Bridges
2015
Basalt polymers are rather new materials for civil engineering; therefore, identification of peculiarities and limitations of application of such polymers in concrete structures (particularly bridges) is of vital importance. This paper experimentally investigates deformation behaviour and cracking of flexural elements, which are predominant parameters governing serviceability of the bridges. Unlike a common practice, the present study is not limited by the analysis of concrete beams reinforced with the polymer bars; it also considers effectiveness of basalt fibre reinforced polymer sheets for repairing the beams. The analysis has revealed that a combination of the high strength and elastici…
Protection of high-density polyethylene-silicon composites from ultraviolet-visible photodegradation
2017
[EN] The extent of the ultraviolet¿visible (UV¿vis) photoirradiation effect on high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and HDPE¿sili-con (Si) composites is reported in terms of the addition of Si microparticles at contents of 0.1, 1, and 5 wt %. A standard acceleratedUV-vis exposure was applied over 2750 h, corresponding to 22 months in Florida. Thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were used as reliable techniques for monitoring the quality of the HDPE-Si composites. Theincreasing addition of Si microparticles delayed the photodegradation of the HDPE¿Si composites. Because of their strong light-scattering effects, Si microparticles blocked…
(Ag)Pd-Fe3O4 Nanocomposites as Novel Catalysts for Methane Partial Oxidation at Low Temperature
2020
Nanostructured composite materials based on noble mono-(Pd) or bi-metallic (Ag/Pd) particles supported on mixed iron oxides (II/III) with bulk magnetite structure (Fe3O4) have been developed in order to assess their potential for heterogeneous catalysis applications in methane partial oxidation. Advancing the direct transformation of methane into value-added chemicals is consensually accepted as the key to ensuring sustainable development in the forthcoming future. On the one hand, nanosized Fe3O4 particles with spherical morphology were synthesized by an aqueous-based reflux method employing different Fe (II)/Fe (III) molar ratios (2 or 4) and reflux temperatures (80, 95 or 110 °
