This is an introduction to a compilation of six articles on language ideologies in the Romanian Banat. My dissertation was initiated by fieldwork in the area, resulting to a database of interviews among the Hungarian and German inhabitants. This data is compared to intellectual writings. With regards to researcher position, I identify myself as a traveler in the area and as a foreign scholar. "Kunnian hallitsema karoliinien sotilaskulttuuri Ruotsin valtakunnassa 1680-1740" Lisensiaattityössäni tarkastelen suuren Pohjan sodan (1700-21)kokeneiden suomalaisten ja ruotsalaisten karoliinisotureiden maailmankuvaa ja sen vaikutusta heidän elämäänsä. Aikakauden ihmisistä erityisesti sotilaiden koko elämänkulku määrittyi vahvasti kunnian ja kunniallisuuden kautta. Ichthyocotylurus pileatus -imumatoloisen esiintyminen ja elämänkiertopiirteet Valvata macrostoma -kotiloissa

Ichthyocotylurus pileatus on ahvenkaloissa yleinen imumatoloinen, jonka elämänkiertoon kuuluu 3 isäntää. Pääisäntä on kalaa ravinnokseen käyttävä lintu, 1. väli-isäntä on liejukotiloihin kuuluva Valvata macrostoma –kotilo, jonka kautta loinen parveilee veteen ja tunkeutuu 2. väli-isäntäänsä kalaan (Perca fluviatilis). Loisen yleisyydestä huolimatta sen elämänkiertopiirteitä ei tunneta kovin hyvin. Työni päätavoite oli selvittää mitkä tekijät vaikuttavat siihen, että Ichthyocotylurus -imumatoloisten esiintyminen on niin yleistä ja runsasta makeanveden kaloissa, vaikka loisten siirtyminen isännästä toiseen on yleisesti ottaen epätodennäköistä. Maģistra darbā "21. gadsimta latviešu bērnu literatūra. Tradīcija un inovācija" konstatētas tendences latviešu bērnu literatūrā laikā no 2006. līdz 2015. gadam gan daiļliteratūras darbos ietverto vērtību tematikā un atspoguļojumā, gan to formālajos aspektos. Darba ietvaros analizēti ievērojamākie jaunākā laika latviešu bērnu literatūras darbi, kas pētāmajā periodā uzvarējuši Latvijas literatūras nozares profesionālajos apbalvojumos vai tikuši nominēti tiem. Vērtējot 21. gadsimta latviešu bērnu daiļliteratūru, šajā darbā ņemts vērā klasiskās latviešu bērnu literatūras vēsturiskais konteksts 20. gadsimtā, tādējādi konstatējot inovatīvās tendences salīdzinājumā ar tradīciju.

Selektīva informācijas uztvere riskantu lēmumu pieņemšanā

Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādi faktori ietekmē indivīdu gatavību iesaistīties riskantās situācijās, koncentrējoties uz informācijas avota raksturojošajiem lielumu, atpazīstamību, indivīdus rakstorojošo subjektīvo vērtējumu par vērtību nozīmīgumu un lēmumu pieņemšanas stilu, kā arī tika kontrolēts to vecums, dzimumus un iegūtās izglītības līmenis. Pētījumā grupu veido 177 respondenti ar vidējo vecumu 40,17 gadi. Tika noskaidrots, ka riskantu lēmumu pieņemšanu ietekmē indivīdu vecums, dzimums, informācijas avots, Pašrealizācijas, Universālisma, Sasniegumu, Stimulācijas, Konformiska, Hedonisma vērtību nozīmīgums, bet nenosaka lēmumu pieņemšanas stils un iegūtās izglītības līmenis.

Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disease associated with pain and loss of functional capacity. The management of knee OA is multifaceted and covers the whole OA continuum from injury prevention to the end stage of the disease. Transformations Accompanying a Shift from Surface to Drip Irrigation in the Cànyoles Watershed, Valencia, Spain

Drip irrigation is widely promoted in Spain to increase agricultural production and to save water. In the Cànyoles watershed, Valencia, we analysed the consequences of change from surface irrigation to drip irrigation over the past 25 years. There were a number of transformations resulting from, or accelerated by, this change including the 1) intensification of well construction causing a redistribution in access to groundwater, water shortages and a lowering of the groundwater table; 2) expansion of irrigation into former rain-dependent uphill areas resulting in increased water use; 3) shift to higher- value monoculture fruit crops, but with associated higher crop water requirements; 4) in…
