The effects of rapid weight loss (RWL) in combat sports athletes is an area that is not yet fully discovered. Therefore, the goal of this study was to determine the impact of weight loss on HGS (handgrip strength) in Greco-Roman wrestlers.This cross-over study included ten athletes examined for HGS during three time points for each hand. The first measurement – baseline (BL), was performed before we-ight reduction. We report helium isotope data for 0.03–1Ma olivine-bearing basaltic hawaiites from three volcanoes of the southern Italy magmatic province (Ustica, Pantelleria, and Linosa Islands). Homogenous 3He/4He ratios (range: 7.3–7.6 Ra) for the three islands, and their similarity with the ratio of modern volcanic gases on Pantelleria, indicate a common magmatic end-member. In particular, Ustica (7.6 ± 0.2Ra) clearly differs from the nearby Aeolian Islands Arc volcanism, despite its location on the Tyrrhenian side of the plate boundary. Lignin recovery from spent alkaline pulping liquors using acidification, membrane separation, and related processing steps: A Review

The separation of lignin from the black liquor generated during alkaline pulping is reviewed in this article with an emphasis on chemistry. Based on published accounts, the precipitation of lignin from spent pulping liquor by addition of acids can be understood based on dissociation equilibria of weak acid groups, which affects the solubility behavior of lignin-related chemical species. Solubility issues also govern lignin separation technologies based on ultrafiltration membranes; reduction in membrane permeability is often affected by conditions leading to decreased solubility of lignin decomposition products and the presence of colloidal matter. The paper aims to present through case studies the history of the titles of some writings belonging to the Hippocratic Corpus with particular regard to their translations into ancient and modern languages. This investigation is of some relevance in order to understand the historical conditions under which Hippocratic treatises were transmitted. In this connection, a relation can be shown between the translated titles of the writings considered on the one side (among them in the first instance de genitura/de natura pueri and de aeribus) and on the other side the ways in which their contents have been transmitted through scientific language in the various historical contexts.
The Coupled Magmatic and Hydrothermal Systems of the Restless Aluto Caldera, Ethiopia

Seismicity can be used to better understand interactions between magma bodies, hydrothermal systems and their host rocks—key factors influencing volcanic unrest. Here, we use earthquake data to image, for the first time, the seismic velocity structure beneath Aluto, a deforming volcano in the Main Ethiopian Rift. Traveltime tomography is used to jointly relocate seismicity and image 3D P- and S-wave velocity structures and the ratio between them (V P/V S). At depths of 4–9 km, the seismicity maps the top of a large low velocity zone with high V P/V S, which we interpret as a more ductile and melt-bearing region. Apoyándose en la concepción de las masas de Goebbels y en la escenografía arquitectónica concebida por Albert Speer, arquitecto personal de Hitler, para el encuentro del partido en Nuremberg, Leni Riefenstahl realizó en El triunfo de la voluntad (Triumph des Willens, 1935) un monumento constructivo del nacionalsocialismo. El presente capítulo analiza la superposición de estas tres formas (la propaganda, la teatralidad y la filmación) en el proyecto nacionalsocialista.
