Coherence between marine and land use planning: public attitudes to landscapes in the context of siting a wind park along the Latvian coast of the Ba…

2014

The aim of this paper is to contribute to coherence in marine, coastal and land use planning and management from the perspective of landscape values. At a time when new sea uses are emerging and marine spatial planning laws and regulations are being adopted, but have not yet been put into practice, research studies are required that provide spatial planners with informed insights concerning public stakeholder attitudes to controversial policies. The undertaken research explored the attitudes of two important social groups (local residents and tourists/recreational users) regarding locating wind parks in the marine and/or terrestrial environment along the Latvian coast of the Baltic Sea. The…

The Impact of COVID-19 on the Rent-a-Car Industry

2021

Without any doubt, coronavirus disease slumped global economies in an unparalleled crisis, one of the worst downturns since 2008. COVID-19 not only affected negatively the tourism industry but also other service sectors. To some extent, governments have adopted two different dispositions against the virus. While some nations imposed a strict lockdown, others privilege the consumption and domestic circuits of payment. In its history, the tourism industry has never faced a crisis of this caliber, and its impacts remain unsure even to date. Although the interests and studies evaluating the impact of COVID-19 have captivated the attention of countless scholars, less attention has been given to …

To this end, a corpus of tourist management reports has been compiled and through a semi-automatic extraction methodology, the identification and classification of the candidates for neologisms has been carried out to study the most frequently used word formation mechanisms and offer a perspective of these new words that helps the translation of tourism texts.

Il paesaggio costiero siciliano: rischi, trasformazione e sostenibilità

2017
