Palladium on pumice: new catalysts for the stereoselective semihydrogenation of alkynes to (Z)-alkenes

2001

Abstract High selectivities (93–99%) and excellent stereoselectivities (>99%) in the semihydrogenation of CC triple bonds were achieved using palladium on pumice with a metal loading of 0.5, 1.5 or 3.0% wt as catalyst. The reactions were carried out in ethanol or tetrahydrofuran with only 2.5% of ethylenediamine allowing a self-terminating semihydrogenation independently on the CC triple bond.

Multinucleon transfer reactions and proton transfer channels

2019

Transfer reactions have always been of great importance for nuclear structure and reaction mechanism studies. So far, in multinucleon transfer studies, proton pickup channels have been completely identified in atomic and mass numbers at energies close to the Coulomb barrier only in few cases. We measured the multinucleon transfer reactions in the 40Ar+208Pb system near the Coulomb barrier, by employing the PRISMA magnetic spectrometer. By using the most neutron-rich stable 40Ar beam we could populate, besidesneutron pickup and proton stripping channels, also neutron stripping and proton pickup channels. Comparison ofcross sections between different systems with the 208Pb target and with pro…

Time-dependent transport in Aharonov–Bohm interferometers

2010

A numerical approach is employed to explain transport characteristics in realistic, quantum Hall based Aharonov-Bohm interferometers. First, the spatial distribution of incompressible strips, and thus the current channels, are obtained applying a self-consistent Thomas-Fermi method to a realistic heterostructure under quantized Hall conditions. Second, the time-dependent Schr\"odinger equation is solved for electrons injected in the current channels. Distinctive Aharonov-Bohm oscillations are found as a function of the magnetic flux. The oscillation amplitude strongly depends on the mutual distance between the transport channels and on their width. At an optimal distance the amplitude and t…

Phenothiazine-based dyes for efficient dye-sensitized solar cells

2016

As an emerging photovoltaic technology, dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have attracted a great deal of academic and industrial interest due to their reasonably high power conversion efficiency, low material cost and facile fabrication process. Metal-free organic dyes, as one of the key components of DSSCs, play a pivotal role in light harvesting and electron injection. Among the various species of organic dyes, easily tunable 10H-phenothiazine-based dyes hold a large proportion. The electron-rich nitrogen and sulfur atoms render 10H-phenothiazine a stronger donor character than other amines, even better than triphenylamine, tetrahydroquinoline, carbazole and iminodibenzyl. On the other h…

Template-assisted fabrication of free-standing nanorod arrays of a hole-conducting cross-linked triphenylamine derivative: toward ordered bulk-hetero…

2009

Free-standing nanorod arrays of a thermally cross-linked semiconducting triphenylamine were fabricated on conductive ITO/glass substrates via an anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) template-assisted approach. By using a solution wetting method combined with a subsequent thermal imprinting step to fill the nanoporous structure of the template with a cross-linkable triphenylamine derivative, a polymeric replication of the AAO was obtained after thermal curing and selective removal of the template. To obtain well-aligned and free-standing nanorod arrays, aggregation and collapse of the nanorods were prevented by optimizing their aspect ratio and applying a freeze-drying technique to remove the aqueous…

Fauna Europaea: Hymenoptera - Apocrita (excl. Ichneumonoidea)

2015

Fauna Europaea provides a public web-service with an index of scientific names (including important synonyms) of all living European land and freshwater animals, their geographical distribution at country level (up to the Urals, excluding the Caucasus region), and some additional information. The Fauna Europaea project covers about 230,000 taxonomic names, including 130,000 accepted species and 14,000 accepted subspecies. This represents a huge effort by more than 400 contributing specialists throughout Europe and is a unique (standard) reference suitable for many users in science, government, industry, nature conservation and education. Hymenoptera is one of the four largest orders of inse…

The EDTA Family of Molecular Based Ferromagnets

1991

The bimetallic compounds of the EDTA family offer a large variety of ferrimagnetic model systems in which the dimensionality as well as the exchange-anisotropy can be controlled with ease. This paper deals with the magneto-structural chemistry of this kind of materials, paying particular attention to both the low-dimensional magnetic behavior and the three-dimcnsional magnetic ordering.

Lāzer-inducētās fluorescences pāreju no A-b kompleksa uz (1)3Sigma(+) stāvokli novērošana un analīze RbCs molekulā

2019
