Einleitung: Bisherige Forschungsergebnisse belegen substantielle Zusammenhänge zwischen dem Erleben von Missbrauchs- und Misshandlungserfahrungen in der Kindheit und der Entwicklung der Borderline Persönlichkeitsstörung im Erwachsenenalter. Die Frage nach transgenerationalen Effekten belastender Kindheitserlebnisse sowie möglicher intermittierender Variablen wird hingegen kontrovers diskutiert. Volatility transmission patterns and terrorist attacks

The objective of this study is to analyze volatility transmission between the US and Eurozone stock markets considering the effects of the September 11, March 11 and July 7 financial crises. In order to do this, we use a multivariate GARCH model and take into account the asymmetric volatility phenomenon, the non-synchronous trading problem and the crises themselves. Moreover, a graphical analysis of the Asymmetric Volatility Impulse-Response Functions (AVIRF) is introduced, which takes into consideration the crisis effect. Das Krankheitsbild des hyperkinetischen Syndroms (HKS) oder der Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-/Hyperaktivitatsstorung beim Erwachsenen ist im deutschsprachigen Raum wenig bekannt. Es ist davon auszugehen, das etwa ein Drittel der betroffenen Kinder Symptome auch im Erwachsenenalter zeigt. Beim Mischtypus finden sich sowohl Konzentrationsprobleme als auch motorische Unruhe und Impulsivitat, deutliche Betonung der einen (vorwiegend unaufmerksamer Typus) oder anderen (vorwiegend hyperaktiv-impulsiver Typus) Symptomengruppe ist moglich. Verbal performance during stress in healthy older people

The impact of stress on the dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) response in older population is understudied. This study investigated, in healthy older people, whether the DHEA and cortisol responses to the Trier Social Stress Test (TSST) was related to performance on this task. Both speech (rated by committee and self-rated) and arithmetic (number of mistakes) performance were assessed. Sixty-five participants (55–77 years old) were exposed to the TSST. Report of toxic shock syndrome toxin 1 (TSST-1) from Staphylococcus aureus isolated in food handlers and surfaces from foodservice establishments.

A set of 53 Staphylococcus aureus isolates collected from food handlers and foodservice establishments in Spain was analyzed for toxic shock syndrome toxin (TSST-1) production. S. aureus strains were isolated from 908 samples collected from different surfaces such as dish towels, workers’ hands, cutting boards, stainless steel tables and slicers, but they were not detected neither in clean plates nor in kitchen knives. Only one food worker hand has been reported to be contaminated by TSST-1 in a restaurant.
