Les aspects intrinsèques de la motivation et de la satisfaction au travail et leur lien supposé avec la performance au travail
2008
This paper deals with the rather general and direct link that it would be tempting to envisage between motivation at work and performance. For example, multidimensional evaluations of motivation (IMTB) and job satisfaction (JDI) were related to a dichotomous variable of performance (objectives attained vs. not attained of 30 sales representatives of a bank). The differences observed only concerned the degree of demotivation of the employees known for not having reached their objectives (but without having affected their motivation in itself). Moreover, they appear less satisfied regarding the promotion system and more satisfied by their relations with their co-workers. The results are discu…
Modèle global et paramétrable, pour la gestion des foules d'agents en animation comportementale
2011
The realism of crowd behavioral animation is based on one hand on a rendering of graphic scenes generated by the application, and on the other hand on the realism of the behavior. This is last point which is our object of study. The realism of crowds' behavior is essentially global (macroscopic realism). It must respect the required statistical characteristics of the crowd (density, dispersal, speed…) similar to those of a real crowd. The realism is also local (microscopic realism), i.e. agents should ideally behave like humans or human groups taken as reference, at least in the focus of the considered application. The aim of our research is to propose a generic model to perform crowd behav…
The EuroSTARRS airborne campaign in support of the SMOS mission: first results over land surfaces
2004
A number of experiments using ground-based and airborne sensors have shown the high potential of L-band passive microwave radiometry for estimating and monitoring surface soil moisture. This has led to the Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity (SMOS) mission, a European Space Agency (ESA) Earth Explorer Opportunity mission. SMOS has the objective to observe soil moisture over land and sea surface salinity over sea, both key parameters for atmospheric, oceanographic and hydrological predictive models. In preparation of SMOS, the EuroSTARRS airborne campaign was carried out in November 2001. Multi-angular measurements of the surface brightness temperature at L-band (1.4 GHz) at vertical polarizati…
Détection automatique de chutes de personnes basée sur des descripteurs spatio-temporels : définition de la méthode, évaluation des performances et i…
2013
We propose a supervised approach to detect falls in home environment adapted to location andpoint of view changes. First, we maid publicly available a realistic dataset, acquired in four differentlocations, containing a large number of manual annotation suitable for methods comparison. We alsodefined a new metric, adapted to real-time tasks, allowing to evaluate fall detection performance ina continuous video stream. Then, we build the initial spatio-temporal descriptor named STHF usingseveral combinations of transformations of geometrical features and an automatically optimised setof spatio-temporal descriptors thanks to an automatic feature selection step. We propose a realisticand pragma…
Stability in Parents' Causal Attributions for Their Children's Academic Performance: A Nine-Year Follow-up
2015
This study investigated the interindividual stability and mean-level changes in parents’ causal attributions for their children’s academic performance across a 9-year period from the first year in primary school (Grade 1, age 7) to the end of lower secondary school (Grade 9, age 16). In all, 212 children participated in the study. The results showed that, after we controlled for the children’s level of academic performance, the parents made fairly similar causal attributions when their children were in the ninth grade as they did in the first grade. Changes in the mean-level happened in only external attributions. Further, the differences between mothers and fathers in the stability of thei…
Naltrexone antagonizes acetaldehyde-induced increments in dopamine neurons activity
2014
Abstract Acetaldehyde is the main metabolite of ethanol ingested through alcoholic beverages. Traditionally considered aversive is presently being viewed as an activating agent of the mesolimbic dopamine system but underlying mechanisms are only partially known. Here we show that acetaldehyde-induced increase in firing rate, burst firing and spikes/burst of antidromically-identified ventro-tegmental area Nucleus Accumbens-projecting neurons are abolished by pretreatment with the opiate unselective antagonist naltrexone (1mg/kg/ip). Similar effects are obtained after administration of naloxone (0.1mg/kg/iv). These results indicate: 1) endogenous opiate system(s) participate in acetaldehyde-i…
IEEE Std 1459–2010. IEEE Standard Definitions for the Measurement of Electric Power Quantities under Sinusoidal, Nonsinusoidal, Balanced or Unbalance…
2010
Definitions used for measurement of electric power quantities under sinusoidal, nonsinusoidal, balanced, or unbalanced conditions are provided in this standard. Mathematical expressions that were used in the past, as well as new expressions, are listed, as well as explanations of the features of the new definitions.
PQ Metrics Implementation on Low Cost Smart Metering Platforms. A Case Study Analysis
2018
The increasing interest on the quality of the energy supplied and generated in distribution networks is raising the need of distributed power quality (PQ) measurements. To allow such capabilities with cost effective metering solutions, this paper wants to investigate the feasibility of using smart meters, already installed for energy billing, also for power quality monitoring. To this aim, an electronic board (based on STCOMET metrology device), already used in many energy meters of different countries, has been selected as case study platform. The manufacturer firmware of this board was essentially aimed at implementing energy meter metrics and power line communications functionalities. In…
Linking species interactions with phylogenetic and functional distance in European bird assemblages at broad spatial scales
2017
Aim: Understanding the relative contribution of different species interactions in shaping community assembly has been a pivotal aim in community ecology. Biotic interactions are acknowledged to be important at local scales, although their signal is assumed to weaken over longer distances. We examine the relationship between positive, neutral and negative pairwise bird abundance distributions and the phylogenetic and functional distance between these pairs after first controlling for habitat associations. Location: France and Finland. Time period: 1984 to 2011 (Finland), 2001 to 2012 (France). Major Taxa studied: Birds. Methods: We used results from French and Finnish land bird monitoring pr…
On the Impact of Heat Pumps Electric Load on the Power Consumption of Lampedusa
2020
The present paper reports the results of a simulation study regarding the impact of the adoption of heat pumps for domestic hot water production in the island of Lampedusa (Italy). In the study, it has been assumed to replace electric storage water heaters with heat pumps at every dwelling of the about four thousand domestic end-users of the island and, in addition, to control the heat pump operation in order to enhance some parameters that characterize the quality of the generation and distribution system of the island (power peak, energy losses and voltage drop). According to the results of the simulations, while the replacement of electric storage water heaters with heat pumps is able to…
