AbstractBackgroundIncorrect segregation of whole chromosomes or parts of chromosome leads to aneuploidy commonly observed in cancer. The correct centrosome duplication, assuring assembly of a bipolar mitotic spindle, is essential for chromosome segregation fidelity and preventing aneuploidy. Alteration of p53 and pRb functions by expression of HPV16-E6 and E7 oncoproteins has been associated with centrosome amplification. Routine [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT (one hour post-injection) has been shown to accurately detect prostate cancer (PCa) lesions. The goal of this study is to evaluate the benefit of a dual-time point imaging modality for the staging and restaging of PCa patients. Biphasic [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT of 233 patients, who underwent early and late scans (one/three hours post-injection), were retrospectively studied. However comparative analyses of the molecular features of these two entities have not yet been reported. We performed targeted RNA sequencing, which revealed that fusion transcripts, although infrequent, might represent additional pathogenetic events in both diseases. An unknown primary tumor (UPT) is defined by the presence of a metastatic cancer without a known primary site of origin despite a standardized diagnostic workup. Clinically, UPTs show rapid progression and early dissemination, with signs and symptoms related to the metastatic site.
