A hybrid evolution strategy for the open vehicle routing problem

This paper presents a hybrid evolution strategy (ES) for solving the open vehicle routing problem (OVRP), which is a well-known combinatorial optimization problem that addresses the service of a set of customers using a homogeneous fleet of non-depot returning capacitated vehicles. The objective is to minimize the fleet size and the distance traveled. The proposed solution method manipulates a population of @m individuals using a (@m+@l)-ES; at each generation, a new intermediate population of @l offspring is produced via mutation, using arcs extracted from parent individuals. Tutkielmassa haluttiin selvittää, millä keinoin tutkittavassa kirjassa on onnistuttu kirjoittamaan vakavista aiheista kevyeen ja huvittavaan sävyyn. Toisin sanoen, tavoitteena oli tunnistaa kirjasta ne ominaisuudet, jotka sallivat teoksen kategorisoinnin mustan huumorin genreen. Tutkielman teoriaosassa esitellään mustan huumorin pääpiirteitä ja vertaillaan sitä satiiriin sekä muihin samankaltaisiin huumorin lajeihin. Pelvic compartment syndrome is a rare condition. As in other musculoskeletal localizations, the intra-compartmental pressure raises above a critical level. In the pelvic compartment syndromes, the gluteal compartments are mainly concerned. We report on three patients with bilateral ureteral obstruction, due to compression by a massive retroperitoneal haematoma as a complication of an unstable pelvic ring or acetabular fracture. AIM Decreases in depth and irregularity are typical changes of the acetabulum in patients with Perthes disease and develop secondary to the femoral head involvement. Optimal timing of therapy plays an important role to prevent these secondary changes. The present study investigates the influence of the amount of femoral head involvement and the patients' age on the acetabulum and the outcome. Posterior Wall Fractures of the Acetabulum: Characteristics, Management, Prognosis

A consecutive series of 60 fractures of the posterior wall of the acetabulum, treated operatively in a Level I Trauma center, is reviewed retrospectively. Characteristics of the lesion, type of treatment, early and late postoperative complications and two-year functional results were recorded. In 27 patients (45%), additional damage to the cartilage of the acetabular cavity such as subchondral impaction, free articular fragments or separation of the posterior wall into several pieces was present.
