The investigation of a nineteenth-century drawing relating to the bell tower facade of the Annunziata church in Paternò offers the opportunity to reconstruct the biography of the Polish architect Stefano Ittar, involved in the construction of the church since 1768. The contribution examines the methods of entry and of Ittar's affirmation on the Sicilian scene by evaluating the alleged declaration of "Romanity" that accompanies his professional figure starting from the documentary data, punctually denied by his architecture and his design choices.
Modeling of surface structure formation after laser irradiation

The Stefan problem in a semi-infinite media under laser irradiation is considered. It is related to the melting and solidification processes, resulting in certain surface structure after the solidification. A simple model, as well as a more sophisticated one is proposed to describe this process. The latter model allows us to calculate the surface profile by solving a system of two nonlinear differential equations, if the shape of the solid-liquid interface is known. It has to be found as a solution of two-phases Stefan problem. Stefan-Boltzmann Radiation on Non-convex Surfaces

We consider the stationary heat equation for a non-convex body with Stefan–Boltzmann radiation condition on the surface. The main virtue of the resulting problem is non-locality of the boundary condition. Moreover, the problem is non-linear and in the general case also non-coercive and non-monotone. We show that the boundary value problem has a maximum principle. Hence, we can prove the existence of a weak solution assuming the existence of upper and lower solutions. In the two dimensional case or when a part of the radiation can escape the system we obtain coercivity and stronger existence result. © 1997 by B.G. Teubner Stuttgart-John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Based on previously unknown archival materials discovered by the authors in the Lithuanian State Historical Archives in Vilnius, the author of the article is reconstructing the beginnings of the Polish theatre company “Reduta” in Vilnius and the discovery of new documents sheds new light on this story. The author attempts to reconstruct the economic and social conditions in which “Reduta” started its operation in Vilnius. The text concerns the period of 1925–1929. La Ansiedad en una Lengua Extranjera (ALE) se ha considerado uno de los factores más importantes que afectan el grado de éxito del aprendizaje de idiomas (Daubney, Dewaele y Goknou, 2017). Sin embargo, la investigación sobre ALE en Alumnos Con Tartamudez (ACT) es escasa. Esta tesis doctoral aborda este problema explorando la relación entre ALE y la tartamudez en el aprendizaje del inglés como lengua extranjera en el contexto español.
