Charge Transport Mechanisms in Heavy-Ion Driven Leakage Current in Silicon Carbide Schottky Power Diodes

2016

Under heavy-ion exposure at sufficiently high reverse bias voltages silicon carbide (SiC) Schottky diodes are observed to exhibit gradual increases in leakage current with increasing ion fluence. Heavy-ion exposure alters the overall reverse current-voltage characteristics of these diodes, leaving the forward characteristics practically unchanged. This paper discusses the charge transport mechanisms in the heavy-ion damaged SiC Schottky diodes. A macro model, describing the reverse current-voltage characteristics in the degraded SiC Schottky diodes is proposed. peerReviewed

Temperature measurement in gas mixtures by femtosecond Raman-induced polarization spectroscopy

2003

European Conference on Nonlinear Optical Spectroscopy (ECONOS) MAR 30-APR 01, 2003 BESANCON, FRANCE; The potential of femtosecond Raman-induced polarization spectroscopy (RIPS) for the simultaneous determination of temperature and concentrations was investigated. These measurements were related to the rotational time response of the molecular gas mixture, which was measured as a function of the pump-probe time delay. The change of the polarizability anisotropy with respect to the vibrational levels was taken into account. The results of temperature measurements in pure CO2 showed good agreement with the values obtained by a thermocouple. The RIPS technique was also applied to a CO2-N2 gas m…

Effects of Temperature and Humidity on Radio Signal Strength in Outdoor Wireless Sensor Networks

2015

Many wireless sensor networks operating outdoors are exposed to changing weather conditions, which may cause severe degradation in system performance. Therefore, it is essential to explore the factors affecting radio link quality in order to mitigate their impact and to adapt to varying conditions. In this paper, we study the effects of temperature and humidity on radio signal strength in outdoor wireless sensor networks. Experimental measurements were performed using Atmel ZigBit 2.4GHz wireless modules, both in summer and wintertime. We employed all the radio channels specified by IEEE 802.15.4 for 2.4GHz ISM frequency band with two transmit power levels. The results show that changes in …
