Background Menopausal transition exposes women to an early decline in muscle force and motor function. Changes in muscle quality and function, especially in lower limbs, are crucial, as they expose individuals to increased risk of falls. To elucidate some of the related neuromuscular mechanisms, we investigated cortical inhibition and peripheral muscle twitch force potentiation in women during the early and late stages of perimenopause. Vairākus gadu desmitus pētījumi par metakognitīvās domāšanas nozīmi ir noritējuši dažādās nozarēs – izglītības, neiropsiholoģijas, tiesībzinātnēs, un pēdējā desmitgadē šim konceptam tiek pievērsta zinātnieku uzmanība arī organizāciju un uzņēmējdarbības jomās. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kādas saistības pastāv starp konstruktiem – vajadzība izzināt, autentiskums un metakognitīvās prasmes vadības zinību studentu izlasē. Pētījuma izlasi veido 102 vadību zinību bakalaura programmu studenti no Latvijas augstskolām. International audience; This paper reviews the most known international assessment studies that are conducted in the context of poor countries and highlights the lack of empirical evidence on the degree to which the contents of the tests really match countries' curricula. To illustrate, the paper evaluates the sensitivity of an international testing instrument by comparing the responses of students in two consecutive grades on the same battery of tests. The Psychometric properties of the resilience scale (RS-14) in Lithuanian adolescents

In the current study, we provided the evidence of satisfactory validity of the RS-14 scale in the Lithuanian adolescents’ sample (N = 1299; Mage = 14.24; SDage = 1.26), based on its internal structure, and relations to other variables. The results of the study indicated an acceptable model fit for a single-factor structure of the scale with a high internal consistency (McDonald’s omega = 0.89). We also confirmed the scalar measurement invariance across groups of adolescents in terms of their age (i.e., early and middle adolescence) and mental health profile as well as partial scalar gender invariance. Discussions of Fatherhood in Male Batterer Treatment Group

The aim of this study was to examine how men who have perpetrated violence toward their partners and participated in batterer group talked about being a father and how they perceived their own fatherhood. The discussion in the group was analyzed qualitatively by using the methods of content analysis. In traditional fatherhood, they talked about avoidant, passiveness, distant, indifference, and authoritative controlling ways of acting. These men also created an image of themselves as active and caring fathers, thus including empathy and nurture in the concept of fatherhood.
