Social and cultural factors shape the linguistic perception of colour. At the same time, colour terms co-create the linguistic image of the world, which allows us to interpret reality and profile our statements and beliefs. This paper presents six basic colour terms: white, black, red, green, yellow, and blue (both as adjectives and as nouns) in the five different linguistic images of the world of the following languages: English, French, Italian, Polish, and Japanese. The subject of the article is the dialect names of products preparedafter pig slaughter shown against the background of the folk culture of Silesia. The aimof the article is to present a selected group of lexemes belonging to one of the subfieldsof dialectal culinary vocabulary, to draw attention to the meaning of names,their origin and motivation (partly also to the formal shape), as well as to discussthe nomination mechanisms. The research is based on field materials collected inthe area of Upper Silesia, older and newer ethnographic studies, as well as dictionariesof the Silesian dialect.

L’article se propose d’analyser les exercices du manuel d’Arminio Wurmbrand Bianchi, Grammalessico francese a uso degl’italiani, qui ont une forme et une structure que l’on retrouve dans de nombreux manuels s’inspirant des méthodes dites « synthétiques ». This paper analyses how English lexicography has received the fascist terminology derived from the Italian party ideology and put into practice by Mussolini during his leadership. The research has examined the online Oxford English Dictionary and the Merriam-Webster Unabridged Online after taking into consideration the huge literature on Mussolini’s language and cultural policy.
