In this work some of the factors that can influence the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and spatial resolution in MR images of inhaled hyperpolarized gases are systematically addressed. In particular, the effects of RF depletion of longitudinal polarization and image gradient diffusion dephasing were assessed in terms of their contribution to a k-space filter. Nel presente lavoro si esamina la possibilità di impiego di tecniche di correlazione digitale di immagini in configurazione stereoscopica per la valutazione sperimentale in-vitro del campo tridimensionale di spostamento e deformazione generato sottocarico sull’osso trattato con un impianto di sintesi intramidollare. L’inserimento di una rima di frattura praticata sulla diafisi media dell’osso sintetico, ha consentito di studiare il differente comportamento nelle due condizioni limite del decorso clinico a seguito del trattamento chirurgico di impianto. AbstractThe concept of generalised species of structures between small categories and, correspondingly, that of generalised analytic functor between presheaf categories are introduced. An operation of substitution for generalised species, which is the counterpart to the composition of generalised analytic functors, is also put forward. These definitions encompass most notions of combinatorial species considered in the literature — including of course Joyal's original notion — together with their associated substitution operation. Background: The aim of our study is to test procalcitonin (PCT) as surrogate marker of identification of Candida spp. by blood culture (BC) and real-time-polymerase chain reaction (PCR), whether alone or in association with bacteria, in septic patients.Methods: We performed a single-centre retrospective study. Scaler mode technique for the ARGO-YBJ detector

The ARGO-YBJ experiment has been designed to study the Extensive Air Showers with an energy threshold lower than that of the existing arrays by exploiting the high altitude location(4300 m a.s.l. in Tibet, P.R. China) and the full ground plane coverage. The lower energy limit of the detector (E $\sim$ 1 GeV) is reached by the scaler mode technique, i.e. recording the counting rate at fixed time intervals. At these energies, transient signals due to local (e.g. Forbush Decreases) and cosmological (e.g. Gamma Ray Bursts) phenomena are expected as a significant variation of the counting rate compared to the background. Bis(imidazolium) salts derived from amino acids as receptors and transport agents for chloride anions

The binding properties of bis(imidazolium) hosts 1a–c derived from amino acids towards different anions have been studied by 1H NMR titration experiments in 95 : 05 CD3CN : H2O at 303 K, ESI-MS and theoretical calculations. Among this family, the salt 1c showed a strong and high selectivity for chloride anions. Transmembrane chloride transport activity has also been studied for the three bis(imidazolium) based transporters in POPC liposome models, and compound 1a was identified as an active chloride/nitrate exchanger.
