A turn to arts-based research methodology in psychodrama research.
2020
AbstractA tendency in psychodrama research is the focus on proving effectiveness. This article in the Zeitschrift für Psychodrama und Soziometrie aims to propose arts-based research (ABR) methodology through a theoretical approach by a brief literature review of psychodrama research, a glimpse into discourses in applied theatre research and an introduction to arts-based research (ABR) methodology. How moments of participation and self-identified significant experiences by the participants from a psychodrama group can be investigated through ABR methodology will be exemplified through performative inquiry (Fels 2012), inspired by poetic inquiry (Faulkner 2018). In this way, the article aims …

The Bible in the films of Pavel Lungin and Andrei Zvyagintsev
2018
In the Soviet Union, even after perestroika, explicitly biblical films have practically not been produced; nevertheless the Bible, despite acute censorship, has been present in a symbolic way in films directed by Andrei Tarkovsky and Larissa Shepitko. A certain revival of biblical themes is evident in recent works of Russian directors Pavel Lungin (Island, 2006; The Conductor, 2012), and Andrei Zvyagintsev (The Return, 2003; Leviathan, 2014). The paper analyzes the meaning of the Bible in these films: biblical texts are quoted in dialogues, and evoked in the titles and the protagonists’ names; biblical motifs are present in images, in contemporary events, and in the narrative structures. Th…
La fabbrica del complesso ecclesiastico degli Olivetani
2019

A Lexicon for Italian cinema: A conversation about history, theory and critique
2017
This article represents the outcome of a round table organized and conducted by Giacomo Tagliani about the Lessico del cinema Italiano/Lexicon of Italian Cinema (2014–2016). This research and editorial project comprises three volumes and 21 entries that address the history of Italian cinema through an original and challenging approach, namely to detect a list of conceptual clusters able to provide new perspectives over the heritage of Italian films. In this refined version, the authors who took part in that round table, that is, Roberto De Gaetano (also editor of the volumes), Massimiliano Coviello, Luca Venzi and Francesco Zucconi, outline their involvement in the research project, their s…
Depicting life, analysing the power: The ‘actuality’ of Italian cinema
2014
The increasing production of biographical films dealing with power and its figures raises interesting questions about the nature and the aims of political cinema. What are the strategies used to represent people whose public image has completely overlapped to their identity? This matter concerns not only thematic aspects of the biopic genre, but more in depth it discloses fundamental issues at the basis of any theory of cinema. From this point of view, some Italian instances propose original solutions, creating a coherent framework in continuity with a long tradition that has marked the history of Italian thought. This article aims at making a survey of these inputs through the analysis of …

Karl I. Stuart bei Andreas Gryphius und Heinrich Heine: Gegensätzliche Herrscherbilder
2018
Karl I. Stuart, Herrscher oder Märtyrer?
2022
Emine Sevgi Özdamar's new novel is a polyphonic hymn to a post-war Europe in which, for a short time, it seemed possible to break down borders using poetry alone. The novel is a long list of memories of friends, artists and acquaintances who accompanied Emine Sevgi Özdamar on her way. Above all it is the eloquent opening of a space between threat and security, a space delimited by shadows.
