2015

Throughout this work the author carries out a study of the trajectory of Catalan drama from the end of the Civil War to present times. The analysis of problems relating to censorship, the lack of infrastructure, the dialectics of commercial versus alternative theatre, the successive appearances of new theatrical writers and groups, the dominating theatrical norms and the important support provided in recent years by public institutions presents a perfect scan of the issues Catalan drama has faced during the mentioned period.

Jakiego "Sokratesa" nie wystawili Lenartowiczowi aktorzy warszawscy w 1884 roku?

2022

A reinvented archetype. The open-air theater on the edge of the city

2020

In southern Italy and in Sicily, over the past forty years, a series of urban redevelopment projects have been carried out, involving the construction of small theaters facing the Mediterranean landscape. !ey are re-invention projects of the archetype of the Greek theater that establish with the external landscape the same “sense of contemplation” expressed by the theaters of antiquity. Despite their privileged position, these theaters are occasionally used in the summer periods for tourist entertainment shows. Shows substantially distant from those of the past, as they lack an “educational” idea aimed at the construction of processes of self-recognition and identification.

THE SCENOGRAPHY OF SERPOTTA STUCCOES REVISITED - MATERIAL AND FORM

2015

The material that lies beneath the smooth shining surface of the stuccoes of the Serpotta family who used to work in Sicily from 1670 to 1730, has been thoroughly studied in previous papers, disclosing the deep, albeit empirical, knowledge of materials science that guided the artists in creating their masterpieces. In this work, attention is focused on the solid perspective and on the scenographic sculpture by Giacomo Serpotta, who is acknowledged as the leading exponent of the School. The study deals with some particular works of the artist, the “small-scaled plastic theatres”, so-called “teatrini”, which he made for the San Lorenzo Oratory in Palermo. On the basis of archival documents an…

2022

Artykuł dotyczy działalności Jerzego Grotowskiego w okresie opolskim i historii Teatru 13 Rzędów w latach 1959–1964. Autorka wykorzystuje różnego typu dokumenty zgromadzone w trakcie długoletnich badań nad politycznymi uwarunkowaniami artystycznej działalności Grotowskiego: rozmowy ze świadkami, listy, wspomnienia, akta osobowe, dokumenty cenzury i materiały pochodzące z archiwów Instytutu Pamięci Narodowej (w tym raporty organów bezpieczeństwa oparte na donosach), aby naszkicować portret Grotowskiego jako dyrektora teatru. Dzięki zestawieniu i analizie tych dokumentów pokazuje skalę inwigilacji Teatru 13 Rzędów, prezentuje stosowane przez władzę metody niebezpośredniej kontroli artystów i …

Jerzego Grotowskiego podróż Do wnętrza, czyli jak w PRL-u stworzyć teatralne laboratorium (i przetrwać)

2020

The purpose of my research is to demonstrate how and why Grotowski was involved with the politics and political system in Communist Poland – not only to what extent he was compromised but to what extent he compromised the authorities. I am especially concerned with determining the levels of risk, professional and personal, to which Grotowski was exposed, and what extent the Polish Secret Police and Communist Party were involved. Many people has been writing and a lot has been written on Grotowski’s theatre in general, but not about Grotowski’s theatre as an institution. The author has discovered some rare and precious materials. These are some interesting secret police files discovered in I…

I MONUMENTI AI SOVRANI SPAGNOLI IN SICILIA NELLA SECONDA METÀ DEL SEICENTO: IL CASO DI FILIPPO IV A PALERMO E DI CARLO II A MESSINA

2018
