Homotopy limits for 2-categories
2008
AbstractWe study homotopy limits for 2-categories using the theory of Quillen model categories. In order to do so, we establish the existence of projective and injective model structures on diagram 2-categories. Using these results, we describe the homotopical behaviour not only of conical limits but also of weighted limits. Finally, pseudo-limits are related to homotopy limits.
On the hyperbolic limit points of groups acting on hyperbolic spaces
1998
We study the hyperbolic limit points of a groupG acting on a hyperbolic metric space, and consider the question of whether any attractive limit point corresponds to a unique repulsive limit point. In the special case whereG is a (non-elementary) finitely generated hyperbolic group acting on its Cayley graph, the answer is affirmative, and the resulting mapg +↦g −, is discontinuous everywhere on the hyperbolic boundary. We also provide a direct, combinatorial proof in the special case whereG is a (non-abelian) free group of finite type, by characterizing algebraically the hyperbolic ends ofG.
A Decomposition Theorem for the Fuzzy Henstock Integral
2012
We study the fuzzy Henstock and the fuzzy McShane integrals for fuzzy-number valued functions. The main purpose of this paper is to establish the following decomposition theorem: a fuzzy-number valued function is fuzzy Henstock integrable if and only if it can be represented as a sum of a fuzzy McShane integrable fuzzy-number valued function and of a fuzzy Henstock integrable fuzzy number valued function generated by a Henstock integrable function.
A Decomposition of Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis Integrable Multifunctions
2009
We proved in our earlier paper [9] that in case of separable Banach space-valued multifunctions each Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis integrable multifunction can be represented as a sum of one of its Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis integrable selectors and a Pettis integrable multifunction. Now, we prove that the same result can be achieved in case of an arbitrary Banach space. Applying the representation theorem we describe the multipliers of the Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis integrable multifunctions. Then we use this description to obtain a characterization of the Henstock-Kurzweil-Pettis integrability in terms of subadditive operators.
Linearization of holomorphic mappings on fully nuclear spaces with a basis
1994
In [13] Mazet proved the following result. If U is an open subset of a locally convex space E then there exists a complete locally convex space (U) and a holomorphic mapping δU: U→(U) such that for any complete locally convex space F and any f ɛ ℋ (U;F), the space of holomorphic mappings from U to F, there exists a unique linear mapping Tf: (U)→F such that the following diagram commutes; The space (U) is unique up to a linear topological isomorphism. Previously, similar but less general constructions, have been considered by Ryan [16] and Schottenloher [17].

Weakly uniformly continuous holomorphic functions and the approximation property
2001
Abstract We study the approximation property for spaces of Frechet and Gâteaux holomorphic functions which are weakly uniformly continuous on bounded sets. We show when U is a balanced open subset of a Baire or barrelled metrizable locally convex space, E , that the space of holomorphic functions which are weakly uniformly continuous on U -bounded sets has the approximation property if and only if the strong dual of E , E ′ b , has the approximation property. We also characterise the approximation property for these spaces of vector-valued holomorphic functions in terms of the tensor product of the corresponding space of scalar-valued holomorphic functions and the range space.
Geometric properties of involutive distributions on graded manifolds
1997
AbstractA proof of the relative version of Frobenius theorem for a graded submersion, which includes a very short proof of the standard graded Frobenius theorem is given. Involutive distributions are then used to characterize split graded manifolds over an orientable base, and split graded manifolds whose Batchelor bundle has a trivial direct summand. Applications to graded Lie groups are given.
A characterization of the Schur property through the disk algebra
2017
[EN] In this paper we give a new characterization of when a Banach space E has the Schur property in terms of the disk algebra. We prove that E has the Schur property if and only if A(D, E) = A(D,E-w). (C) 2016 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
The Bishop–Phelps–Bollobás theorem for operators
2008
AbstractWe prove the Bishop–Phelps–Bollobás theorem for operators from an arbitrary Banach space X into a Banach space Y whenever the range space has property β of Lindenstrauss. We also characterize those Banach spaces Y for which the Bishop–Phelps–Bollobás theorem holds for operators from ℓ1 into Y. Several examples of classes of such spaces are provided. For instance, the Bishop–Phelps–Bollobás theorem holds when the range space is finite-dimensional, an L1(μ)-space for a σ-finite measure μ, a C(K)-space for a compact Hausdorff space K, or a uniformly convex Banach space.
