Chromatography of metal chelates

The chromatographic behavior of metal bis(ethoxyethyl)dithiocarbamate was investigated. The chelates of 14 elements (V, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Se, Mo, Cd, Te, Hg, Tl, Pb and Bi) could be preconcentrated from water with an on-line system and were shown to be suitable for C18-reversed-phase liquid chromatography. A quaternary solvent mixture with admixture of a surfactant was used as eluent, UV-detection was performed at 254 nm. Thermostating the column to 40° C resulted in a significant increase in chromatographic resolution and in a decrease of analysis time. The recovery of the chelates from the aqueous solutions as well as reproducibility of the results are very sensitive to pH changes.

Abstract Five new Ni(II) dithiocarbamates with NiS4, NiS2PN and NiS2PCl coordination spheres, viz. [Ni(bupmbzdtc)2] (1), [Ni(bupmbzdtc)(PPh3)(NCS)] (2), [Ni(bupmbzdtc)(PPh3)Cl] (3), [Ni(4-dpmpzdtc)(PPh3)Cl] (4) and [Ni(pbbzbudtc)(PPh3)(NCS)] (5), where bupmbzdtc = N-butyl(p-methylbenzyl)dithiocarbamato anion, 4-dpmpzdtc = 4-(diphenylmethyl)piperazinecarbodithioato anion, pbbzbudtc = N-(p-bromobenzyl)butyl-dithiocarbamato anion and PPh3 = triphenylphosphine, were synthesized and characterized by UV, IR, NMR and single crystal X-ray diffraction methods. Abstract α - l -Rhamnosides of 4-hydroxy-benzyl compounds with nitrile, carbamate, and thiocarbamate groups occurring in Moringa oleifera leaf extracts and the α - l -rhamnoside of anisaldehyde derivatives were synthesised. Electrophilic activation of S -pent-4-enyl thiorhamnosides was applied for the construction of glycosidic linkages.

Abstract Reaction of Cu(II) salts with dithiocarbamates derived from the amino acids asparagine, glutamine, serine, threonine and tyrosine leads to reduction of the metallic cation and formation of Cu(I) complexes, whereas reaction with proline dithiocarbamate takes place without reduction, leading to formation of a Cu(II) coordination compound. Simultaneous reaction of proline dithiocarbamate and ethylenediamine with Cu(II) leads to the formation of the mixed complex [Cu(en)(EtOH)(H2O)3][Cu(dtc-pro)2]. Phase selective synthesis of ZnS nanoparticles from structurally new dithiocarbamate precursor

Abstract A phase selective solvothermal synthesis of ZnS (wurzite) nanoparticles with a flower-like morphology using a dithiocarbamate precursor, [Zn(4-dpmpzdtc)2(dpmpz)] (1) (where, dpmpz=(diphenylmethyl)piperazine), is described. The nanoparticles were identified as ZnS (wurzite) with the particle size of about 3 to 10 nm by scanning and transmission electron microscopy as well as powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). In addition, the precursor complex 1 was characterized using single crystal X-ray diffraction.

The syntheses and X-ray structures of novel heteroleptic thiolate/dithiocarbamate derivatives (Et2NCS2)2(RS)2Sn (R = Cy, CH2CF3) have been examined and their thermal decompositions compared with those of selected tin(II) and tin(IV) dithiocarbamates. The heteroleptic species decompose to SnS by initial elimination of RSSR to afford (Et2NCS2)2Sn and subsequent loss of [Et2NC(S)]2S. In contrast, (Et2NCS2)4Sn decomposes via [(Et2NCS2)2SnS]2, whose structure has been determined, and finally to SnS2 by sequential elimination of [Et2NC(S)]2S. The two families of compounds, (R2NCS2)4Sn and (Et2NCS2)2(RS)2Sn, thus provide single-source materials for bulk SnS2 and SnS, respectively, by virtue of the…
Stability in physiological saline of intravenous busulfan in a polyolefin pack

Abstract Introduction Although it has been used orally, the variability in its absorption and the risk of causing vomiting has lead to a push towards the intravenous use of busulfan. This study looks at the stability of 60 mg of busulfan, in fixed volumes of 250 mL (0.24 mg/mL) and 500 mL (0.12 mg/mL) of physiological saline and different conservation conditions, in a new plastic pack made from polyolefin/polyamide laminates.
