New tubular transition metal oxoanionic derivatives: a systematic approach to condensed phases of the dumortierite family

Abstract An unified synthetic approach has allowed us to isolate a wide set of highly condensed oxoanionic derivatives of transition metals by using solution chemistry procedures. New phases are described [Ni 12+ x H 6−2 x (AsO 4 ) 8 (OH) 6 . Ni 6 (SeO 3 ) 4 (OH) 4 ], and the preparation of other already known [Ni 12+ x H 6−2 x (PO 4 ) 8 (OH) 6 , Ni 3 Te 2 O 6 (OH) 2 ] is significantly simplifi ed. The structure of these derivatives, as well as that of other phases such as M 11 (HPO 3 ) 8 (OH) 6 (M=Zn, Co, Ni), previously characterized by us, can be related to that of the dumortierite mineral. Live-in migrant care worker arrangements in Germany and the Netherlands. Motivations and justifications in family decision-making

Private households in ageing societies increasingly employ live-in migrant carers (LIMCs) to care for relatives in need of 24/7 care and supervision. Whilst LIMC arrangements are a common practice in Germany, they are only recently emerging in the Netherlands. Taking this development as a starting point, this study uses the countries’ different long-term care (LTC) regimes as the analytical framework to explore and compare the motivations and justifications of German and Dutch family carers who opt for an LIMC arrangment. In the first half of the twentieth century, the north-western lowlands of imperial Ethiopia were the typical interstitial frontier of the Ethiopian–Sudanese borderlands. Starting in the early 1960s, a cash crop revolution paved the way to the transformation of the Mazega into a settlement frontier and the emergence of a dispute with Sudan for demarcation of the international border. This article explores the entanglement between the political economy of frontier governance and border diplomacy in the contested area. El análisis de las precipitaciones máximas suele llevarse a cabo mediante curvas IDF (Intensidad-Duración-Frecuencia), que a su vez pueden expresarse como curvas IMM (Intensidades Medias Máximas). En este trabajo, hemos desarrollado un índice “n”, definido a partir del exponente que se obtiene de ajustar las curvas climáticas IDF a las curvas IMM. Among bistable photochromic molecules, diarylethenes (DAEs) possess the distinct feature that upon photoisomerization they undergo a large modulation of their π-electronic system, accompanied by a marked shift of the HOMO/LUMO energies and hence oxidation/reduction potentials. The electronic modulation can be utilized to remote-control charge- as well as energy-transfer processes and it can be transduced to functional entities adjacent to the DAE core, thereby regulating their properties.
