X-ray crystal structure and antimony-121 Mössbauer spectrum of catecholato bis(1,10-phenanthroline)antimony(III) tetraphenylborate

The crystal structure of the title compound was solved by means of X-ray diffraction at room temperature. The salt consists of a tetrahedral tetraphenylborate anion and a complex cation containing a catecholatoantimony(III) unit chelated by two 1,10-phenanthrolines. The three bidentate ligands are essentially arranged in one half of the Sb coordination sphere, leaving ample space to accomodate the lone pair of electrons. The Mossbauer parameters of the title compound and of the complex (C6H4O2)SbF·Phen were measured and their rationalization accomplished in the light of their respective molecular structures.

Determination of arsenic and antimony in milk by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry

Abstract A highly sensitive procedure has been developed for total arsenic and antimony determination in milk samples by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry after microwave-assisted sample digestion. The discrete introduction of 2 ml of digested sample in the automated continuous flow hydride generation system allows us to reduce drastically the sample and HCl consume and to determine several elements from a same sample digestion. Abstract A rapid, high sensitivity method has been developed for the determination of As(III), As(V), Sb(III) and Sb(V) in milk samples by using hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry. The method is based on the leaching of As and Sb from milk through the sonication of samples with aqua regia followed by direct determination of the corresponding hydrides both before and after reduction with KI. A non-chromatographic fast, sensitive and easy method has been developed for the determination of Sb(III), Sb(V), Te(IV) and Te(VI) in cereal samples. The procedure is based on ultrasound assisted extraction and determination by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HG AFS). A highly sensitive and simple method has been developed for the determination of As(III), total As, Sb(III) and total Sb in drinking water samples by continuous hydride generation and atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HGAFS). For As determination, water samples aspirated in a carrier of 2 mol l(-1) HCl were merged with a reducing NaBH(4) 3%(m/v) solution, with sample and NaBH(4) flow rates of 12.5 and 1.5 ml min(-1) respectively. This studies offer different classifications of the determinants of the farmland value.
