Can the balloon expulsion test be used to exclude the diagnosis of'"dyssynergic defecation"?
2016
BACKGROUND: Fimctional constipation (FC) is a common disorder, particularly frequent m women. The aim of our study was to compare the results of balloon expulsion test with the manometry and defecography findings to exclude dyssynergic defecation (DD) in patients with chronic constipation. METHODS: From January 2005 to December 2011, 127 patients with the diagnosis of functional constipation were recruited retrospectively. They were divided into three groups: 24 with DD, 54 with descending perineum syndrome (PDS), 49 without DD/PDS. Diagnosis of DD was established by manometnc and defecographic fmdmgs according to Rome EH criteria. RESULTS: The balloon expulsion test was abnormal m 11 out o…
Unitarity Triangle from CP invariant quantities
2006
We construct the CKM unitarity triangle from CP invariant quantities, using the coupling constant of weak decays with flavor change from b to u, and the particle - antiparticle mixing probability in the B_s and B_d systems. Also included are new measurements of the coupling V_us in Kaon decays. Of the two solutions, one agrees perfectly with the triangle constructed from CP violating processes in the K and B meson systems. The common solution yields a triangle with an area of J/2 = (1.51 +/- 0.09) x 10^{-5} and a CP violating phase gamma = 63.1^o +/- 4.0^o.
Fine tuning of the magnetic properties in Mn3-Co Ga Heusler films near the critical regime
2021
Abstract Tunability of structural and magnetic properties of Mn3-xCoxGa films is presented by Co substitution, where critical behavior emerges 0.37 ≤ x ≤ 0.56 exhibiting a transition from tetragonal hard ferrimagnetic with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) to a cubic soft ferrimagnetic phase with in-plane magnetic anisotropy (IMA). In the critical regime, coexisting state of tetragonal and cubic phases possesses significantly low coercive field (HC = 1.9 kOe) with relatively low saturation magnetization (MS = 100~150 emu/cc) while maintaining the PMA. From first-principles calculations, moments of two Mn sites do not change upon Co substitution. However, moments of substituted Co almo…
Bis(6-thioxo-1,6-dihydropurinium) tetrachlorozincate(II).
2006
The title salt, (C(5)H(5)N(4)S)(2)[ZnCl(4)], consists of two 6-thioxo-1,6-dihydropurinium (6mpH(2)(+)) cations (A and B) and a tetrachlorozincate anion, which are held together by N-H...Cl and C-H...Cl interactions. There is an anion-pi interaction between one Cl atom of the [ZnCl(4)](-) anion and the pyrimidine ring of the 6mpH(2)(+)(B) cation. Intermolecular pi-pi stacking interactions allow 6mpH(2)(+)(A) cations to form antiparallel pairs. One interesting structural feature is the double N-H...N intermolecular hydrogen bonds between two 6mpH(2)(+)(A) cations. This kind of interaction, mimicking that of natural nucleobases, can be very valuable in designing new therapeutic purine derivati…
Comparison of some dispersion-corrected and traditional functionals as applied to peptides and conformations of cyclohexane derivatives.
2012
We compare the energetic and structural properties of fully optimized α-helical and antiparallel β-sheet polyalanines and the energetic differences between axial and equatorial conformations of three cyclohexane derivatives (methyl, fluoro, and chloro) as calculated using several functionals designed to treat dispersion (B97-D, ωB97x-D, M06, M06L, and M06-2X) with other traditional functionals not specifically parametrized to treat dispersion (B3LYP, X3LYP, and PBE1PBE) and with experimental results. Those functionals developed to treat dispersion significantly overestimate interaction enthalpies of folding for the α-helix and predict unreasonable structures that contain Ramachandran φ and …
Entanglement dynamics of two independent cavity-embedded quantum dots
2010
We investigate the dynamical behavior of entanglement in a system made by two solid-state emitters, as two quantum dots, embedded in two separated micro-cavities. In these solid-state systems, in addition to the coupling with the cavity mode, the emitter is coupled to a continuum of leaky modes providing additional losses and it is also subject to a phonon-induced pure dephasing mechanism. We model this physical configuration as a multipartite system composed by two independent parts each containing a qubit embedded in a single-mode cavity, exposed to cavity losses, spontaneous emission and pure dephasing. We study the time evolution of entanglement of this multipartite open system finally …
Gluten-Free Diet Reduces Symptoms, Particularly Diarrhea, in Patients With Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Antigliadin IgG
2021
Background & Aims Many patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) perceive that their symptoms are triggered by wheat-containing foods. We assessed symptoms and gastrointestinal transit before and after a gluten-free diet (GFD) in unselected patients with IBS and investigated biomarkers associated with symptoms. Methods We performed a prospective study of 50 patients with IBS (ROME III, all subtypes), with and without serologic reactivity to gluten (antigliadin IgG and IgA), and 25 healthy subjects (controls) at a university hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, between 2012 and 2016. Gastrointestinal transit, gut symptoms, anxiety, depression, somatization, dietary habits, and microbiot…
Graded algebras with polynomial growth of their codimensions
2015
Abstract Let A be an algebra over a field of characteristic 0 and assume A is graded by a finite group G . We study combinatorial and asymptotic properties of the G -graded polynomial identities of A provided A is of polynomial growth of the sequence of its graded codimensions. Roughly speaking this means that the ideal of graded identities is “very large”. We relate the polynomial growth of the codimensions to the module structure of the multilinear elements in the relatively free G -graded algebra in the variety generated by A . We describe the irreducible modules that can appear in the decomposition, we show that their multiplicities are eventually constant depending on the shape obtaine…
A Probabilistic Approach to the Count-To-Infinity Problem in Distance-Vector Routing Algorithms
2013
Count-to-infinity problem is characteristic for routing algorithms based on the distributed implementation of the classical Bellman-Ford algorithm. In this paper a probabilistic solution to this problem is proposed. It is argued that by the use of a Bloom Filter added to the routing message the routing loops will with high probability not form. An experimental analysis of this solution for use in Wireless Sensor Networks in practice is also included.
Otrā tipa cukura diabēta pacientu līdzestība ārstēšanā
2022
