The Promise and Deception of Participation in Welfare Services for Unemployed Young People

This study examined the role of welfare services in the participative citizenship of young people under 30 years of age outside the labour market. Thematic content analysis of the government’s white papers regarding participation policies, as well as participatory action research projects in two Finnish towns, were used to identify factors that enable or hinder participation for this group of service users. Vispārinātie lineārie modeļi skaita tipa datu analīzei

Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts vispārināto lineāro modeļu, kas piemēroti skaita tipa datu analīzei, teorijas apskatam. Darbā apskatīts Puasona regresijas modelis, kā arī modeļi, kas piemēroti pārāk lielas dispersijas gadījumā (kvazi-Puasona un negatīvā binomiālā sadalījuma regresijas modeļi). Skaita tipa datos var būt situācijas, kad liels datu daudzums ir 0, tāpēc šādu datu analīzei aprakstīti īpaši piemēroti modeļi, jo iepriekšminētie modeļi šādiem datiem nevar sniegt korektus novērtējumus. Modeling multipartite virus evolution: the genome formula facilitates rapid adaptation to heterogeneous environments

Multipartite viruses have two or more genome segments, and package different segments into different particle types. Although multipartition is thought to have a cost for virus transmission, its benefits are not clear. Recent experimental work has shown that the equilibrium frequency of viral genome segments, the setpoint genome formula (SGF), can be unbalanced and host-species dependent. These observations have reinvigorated the hypothesis that changes in genome-segment frequencies can lead to changes in virus-gene expression that might be adaptive. Bakalaura darba tēma – 2. tipa cukura diabēta primārā profilakse Covid-19 pandēmijas laikā. Tēmas aktualitāti nosaka tas, ka Latvijā ir apmēram 90 tūkstoši 2. tipa cukura diabēta pacientu un katru gadu tiek atklāti 6 – 7 tūkstoši jauni gadījumi, pie tām līdz pusei slimnieku var būt nediagnosticēts cukura diabēts. Galvenie 2. tipa cukura diabēta saslimšanas riska faktori ir palielināta ķermeņa masa, hipodnamija, stress un neveselīgi stresa pārvarēšanas līdzekļi – smēķēšana un pārmērīga alkohola lietošana.
