Blue light mediated C–H arylation of heteroarenes using TiO2as an immobilized photocatalyst in a continuous-flow microreactor

2017

Titanium dioxide was applied as an immobilized photocatalyst in a microstructured falling film reactor for the continuous-flow C-H arylation of heteroarenes with aryldiazonium salts as the starting material. Detailed investigations of the catalyst and a successful long-term run proved its excellent usability for this process. Very good yields up to 99% were achieved with broad substrate scope and were compared with batch synthesis. The transfer to the continuous-flow mode revealed an impressive boost in reactor performance solely resulting from the improved irradiation and contact of the catalyst, substrate and light.

De novo synthesis of mesoporous photoactive titanium(IV)-organic frameworks with MIL-100 topology

2019

[EN] Most developments in the chemistry and applications of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been made possible thanks to the value of reticular chemistry in guiding the unlimited combination of organic connectors and secondary building units (SBUs) into targeted architectures. However, the development of new titanium-frameworks still remains limited by the difficulties in controlling the formation of persistent Ti-SBUs with predetermined directionality amenable to the isoreticular approach. Here we report the synthesis of a mesoporous Ti-MOF displaying a MIL-100 topology. MIL-100(Ti) combines excellent chemical stability and mesoporosity, intrinsic to this archetypical family of porous…

Effect of modulator connectivity on promoting defectivity in titanium–organic frameworks

2020

The recognition of defect chemistry as a true synthetic tool for targeted creation of defects and controllable performance remains limited by the pool of frameworks explored. The value of defect engineering in controlling the properties of defective frameworks has been beautifully exemplified and largely demonstrated with UiO-type materials based on Zr(iv) nodes. However, titanium–organic frameworks remain largely unexplored in this context arguably due to the complex chemistry in solution of Ti(iv) and the difficulties in growing crystalline solids. We report a systematic study on the ability of mono- and dicarboxylic modulators (benzoic and isophthalic acid) to promote defect creation in …

Selective Implantation of Diamines for Cooperative Catalysis in Isoreticular Heterometallic Titanium–Organic Frameworks

2021

[EN] We introduce the first example of isoreticular titanium-organic frameworks, MUV-10 and MUV-12, to show how the different affinity of hard Ti(IV) and soft Ca(II) metal sites can be used to direct selective grafting of amines. This enables the combination of Lewis acid titanium centers and available -NH, sites in two sizeable pores for cooperative cycloaddition of CO2 to epoxides at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The selective grafting of molecules to heterometallic clusters adds up to the pool of methodologies available for controlling the positioning and distribution of chemical functions in precise positions of the framework required for definitive control of pore chemistr…

Self and N-2 collisional broadening of far-infrared methane lines measured at the SOLEIL synchrotron

2012

International audience; Following our recent study devoted to measurements of intensities of pure rotation lines of methane, room temperature far infrared spectra of methane diluted in nitrogen at five total pressures between 100 and 800 hPa have been recorded at the AILES beamline of the SOLEIL synchrotron. One hundred and five N-2 broadening coefficients of methane pure rotation lines have been measured in the 83-261 cm(-1) spectral range using multi-spectrum non-linear least squares fitting of Voigt profiles. Pressure-induced line shifts were not needed to fit the spectra to the noise level and line mixing effects were neglected. One hundred and seventy-six self broadening coefficients h…

Photocatalytic H2 production over inverse opal TiO2 catalysts

2019

Abstract The influence of BiVO4 and CuO on the chemico-physical properties of TiO2-based systems is reported. The performances of these systems were investigated in the photocatalytic H2 production both under UV and solar light irradiation. The characterization data pointed out that the obtained TiO2 samples have highly porous inverse opal structures with interconnected macropores. Inverse opal TiO2 exhibited higher activity in the H2 production than the commercial TiO2 due to the peculiar porosity that allows photons to enter inside the photocatalyst. A further improvement in terms of photoactivity was verified by addition of increasing amounts of BiVO4. On the contrary a small CuO content…

Study of titanium alloy Ti6242S oxidation behaviour in air at 560°C: Effect of oxygen dissolution on lattice parameters

2020

Abstract High temperature oxidation of titanium alloy Ti6242S was studied in air at 560 °C up to 10000 h. Oxidation kinetics obeys a parabolic law (kp = 8.7 × 10−15 g². cm−4.s-1). Oxygen dissolution in the metal was found to represent between 80 and 90% of the total mass gain. Thin oxide scales are mainly composed of TiO2, in top of which some alumina is present. Titanium nitride was detected as a very thin layer at the outer part of the metallic substrate. Underneath, the oxygen dissolution area was found to reach the maximum brittleness after 1000 h of oxidation.

CO2 laser-induced structure changes in lead zirconate titanate Pb(Zr0.58Ti0.42)O3 sol–gel films

2003

Based on absorption spectra of lanthanum modified lead zirconate titanate Pb0.9La0.1(Zr0.65Ti0.35)O3 (PLZT10/65/35) ferroelectric ceramics an idea of local and selective treatment of lead zirconite titanate Pb(ZrXTi1−X)O3 (PZT) sol–gel film in the multi-layer structure by CO2 laser radiation was formulated. The possibility to obtain PZT perovskite film on the SiO2/Si substrate by irradiation with CO2 laser was shown experimentally. X-ray studies revealed the PZT perovskite structure ratio growth at the expenses of pirochlore structure with an increased power density of laser radiation.

Mechanical behavior of provisional implant prosthetic abutments

2014

Introduction: Implant-supported prostheses have to overcome a major difficulty presented by the morphology and esthetics of peri-implant tissues in the anterior sector. Diverse therapeutic techniques are used for managing the mucosa adjacent to the implant and the most noteworthy is immediate/deferred fixed provisionalization. Objectives: In vitro testing of strength and deformation of implant prosthetic abutments made from different materials (Titanium/PEEK/methacrylate). Material and Methods: Forty Sweden&Martina® implant prosthetic abutments (n=40) were divided into five groups: Group MP: methacrylate provisional abutments with machined titanium base; Group PP: Poly ether ether ketone (P…

Using the methods of radiospectroscopy (EPR, NMR) to study the nature of the defect structure of solid solutions based on lead zirconate titanate (PZ…

2014

The nature of intrinsic and impurity point defects in lead zirconate titanate (PZT) ceramics has been explored. Using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) methods, several impurity sites have been identified in the materials, including the Fe 3+ -oxygen vacancy (VO) complex and Pb ions. Both of these centers are incorporated into the PZT lattice. The Fe 3+ -V paramagnetic complex serves as a sensitive probe of the local crystal field in the ceramic; the symmetry of this defect roughly correlates with PZT phase diagram as the composition is varied from PbTiO 3 to PbZrO 3 . NMR spectra 207 Pb in PbTiO 3 , PbZrO 3 ,…
