In-situ small-angle x-ray scattering study of nanoparticles in the plasma plume induced by pulsed laser irradiation of metallic targets

Import JabRef; International audience; Small angle x-ray scattering was used to probe in-situ the formation of nanoparticles in the plasma plume generated by pulsed laser irradiation of a titanium metal surface under atmospheric conditions. The size and morphology of the nanoparticles were characterized as function of laser irradiance. Two families of nanoparticles were identified with sizes on the order of 10 and 70 nm, respectively. These results were confirmed by ex-situ transmission electron microscopy experiments.
The “accumulation effect” of positrons in the stack of foils, detected by measurements of the positron implantation profile

The profiles of positrons implanted from the radioactive source 22Na into a stack of foils and plates are the subject of our experimental and theoretical studies. The measurements were performed using the depth scanning of positron implantation profile method, and the theoretical calculations using the phenomenological multi-scattering model (MSM). Several stacks consisting of silver, gold and aluminum foils, and titanium and germanium plates were investigated. The strain response of piezoelectric multilayer actuators under combined action of electric field and in-plane uniform load

Abstract The driving field governed strain of lead zirconate titanate piezoelectric multilayer actuators have been made within the 107 N/m2 stress and the 3 · 106 V/m triangle-like upward-down-ward driving voltage. A slow strain component as well as a specific relaxation pattern are detected being additional to the periodic part and attributed to the trapped space charge effects favored by nonuniform electric field of the multilayer.

Abstract Titanium oxynitride thin films have been deposited by low-pressure metalorganic chemical vapour deposition and reactive sputtering. The growth temperature for chemical vapour-deposited films and water vapour partial pressure for sputter-deposited films have been used to modulate the chemical composition. The effect of prepolymerization of a titanium catalyst on its deactivation in propylene polymerization

Propylene polymerization rate was investigated in the presence of anunsupported titanium catalyst (TiCl3) that had been modified with a Lewis base (di-n-butyl ether) and activated (precat), or not activated (cat), by being used in a suspension prepolymerization (70°C, 0.6 MPa) of an identical monomer. The initial polymerization rate was higher with the precat than with the cat catalyst. Prepolymerization was also found to enhance the kinetic stability of catalyst's active sites, presumably by reason of the prepolymerization-induced modification of catalyst's morphology. Deactivation rate constants were evaluated for the active sites of either catalyst examined.

Activity of a model titanium-aluminium catalyst system with n-BuO-ligands has been investigated in the polymerization of ethylene. The effect of the concentration of titanium compound on the support, the Al/Ti molar ratio, and catalyst concentration in the polymerization process on polyethylene yield has been determined. A mathematical optimation method has been used for the interpretation of results. Kinetic studies of two-step polymerization of propylene over a titanium-aluminum catalyst

The influence was studied of the modification of an unsupported titanium-aluminum catalytic system with an internal Lewis base incorporated, via prepolymerization, on the activity of this system in propylene polymerization. In order to clarify the reasons for the activating effect of prepolymerization, comparative studies were carried out on the kinetics of polymerization catalyzed by a titanium system and its prepolymerized counter part.
