Optical Evaluation of New Designs of Multifocal Diffractive Corneal Inlays

[EN] Purpose. To assess the imaging properties of two different designs of a new concept of corneal inlays whose working principle is based on diffraction. Methods. The quality of the retinal images provided by Diffractive Corneal Inlays (DCIs) was evaluated theoretically in comparison with Small Aperture Corneal Inlay (SACI). ZEMAX OpticStudio software was employed for the simulations in an eye model with different pupil diameters (3.0 mm and 4.5 mm). The employed merit functions in the analysis were the Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), the area under the MTF (MTFa), and the Point Spread Function (PSF). Multidisciplinary research in public health is approached using methods from many scientific disciplines. One of the main characteristics of this type of research is dealing with large data sets. Classic statistical variable selection methods, known as “screen and clean”, and used in a single-step, select the variables with greater explanatory weight in the model. Prediction of CRT Activation Sequence by Personalization of Biventricular Models from Electroanatomical Maps

[EN] Optimization of lead placement and interventricular delay settings in patients under cardiac resynchronization therapy is a complex task that might benefit from prior information based on models. Biophysical models can be used to predict the sequence of electrical heart activation in a patient given a set of parameters which should be personalized to the patient.
