Vironkielistä tekstiä lukevien suomalaisten on havaittu hyödyntävän monenlaisia strategioita selvittääkseen sukukielen sanojen merkityksiä. Yksi niistä on pohjustaminen (priming). This paper aims to contribute to our understanding on rater beliefs and views and to promote transparency in rater’s work in the form of reflection. The paper focuses on professional Finnish raters’ beliefs and views of assessing L1 Estonian speakers in the criteria-referenced Finnish language test of the National Certifi- cates of Language Proficiency test system. Il saggio, a partire dal progetto della torre Eurosky dello Studio Purini/Thermes, individua le relazioni urbane e indaga le qualità tipo-morfologiche dell'edificio realizzato come elemento di forte identità in un più ampio contesto che – messo a punto in un masterplan – definisce l’intera area di progetto dell’Europarco Castellaccio di Roma. Il progetto è una struttura metodologicamente fondata su scelte e considerazioni di carattere relazionale, geometrico e funzionale, che evidenziano punti di forza, di debolezza e di tolleranza capaci di modificare, anche nell’ambito coerente di riferimento di un possibile scenario di riconversione, l’intera area a ridosso dell’EUR.

Earlier research has shown that after physics instruction, many students have difficulties with the force concept, and with constructing free-body diagrams (FBDs). It has been suggested that treating forces as interactions could help students to identify forces as well as to construct the correct FBDs. Cayambe Volcano is an ice-capped, 5,790 m high, andesitic-dacitic volcanic complex, located on the equator in the Eastern Cordillera of the Ecuadorian Andes. An eruption at Cayambe would pose considerable hazards to surrounding communities and a nationally significant agricultural industry. Although the only historically documented eruption was in 1785, it remains persistently restless and long-period (LP) seismicity has been consistently observed at the volcano for over 10 years. X-ray tomographic method for measuring three-dimensional deformation and water content distribution in swelling clays

A non-invasive method for simultaneous measurement of the 3D displacement field and the water content distribution of a wetted solid material is developed. The method is based on comparison of X-ray tomographic images of a material sample in the reference state and in the wetted and deformed state. The deformation and water content analyses were successfully compared with numerical results for a cylindrical rubber test sample under axial compression, and with gravimetric results from axially wetted and sliced cylindrical bentonite samples, respectively.
