The synthesis and crystal structures with alkali halides of a ditopic benzo-15-crown-5 bis-urea receptor have been presented. In addition, the anion binding properties of and its alkali metal complexes in solution are presented. A comprehensive single-crystal X-ray crystallographic study of , all together 13 crystal structures, including the ion pair complexes with NaCl, NaBr, NaI, KF, KCl, KBr, KI, RbF, RbCl, and RbI, give a detailed view of how behaves in the solid-state with different alkali halides depending on the size of the cation and anion. A Polar18F-Labeled Amino Acid Derivative for Click Labeling of Biomolecules

This work describes the synthesis and 18F-labeling of an amino acid based prosthetic group that is able to participate in copper(I)-catalyzed cycloadditions. The prosthetic group can be used for 18F labeling of biomolecules under mild conditions. The synthesis started with L-serine methyl ester, which was derivatized by introducing an alkyne moiety and a leaving group for 18F labeling. Subsequently, 18F labeling as well as deprotection conditions were screened, which resulted in an overall radiochemical yield (RCY) of around 28 %. Furthermore, the 18F-labeled prosthetic group was treated with an azido cyclic Arg-Gly-Asp (cRGD) peptide as a model system in very high RCY of 98 %.

When carried out under optimised conditions, peptide separation by CEC methods represents an orthogonal and complementary technique to micro-HPLC (micro-HPLC) and high-performance capillary zone electrophoresis (HPCZE). The origin of the selectivity differences that can be achieved with these three separation techniques (CEC, micro-HPLC and HPCZE), respectively are discussed, and the current limits of performance with CEC methods documented. Abstract The role of Holothuria tubulosa in organic matter recycling of Posidonia oceanica detritus was estimated in a laboratory feeding experiment. The individual mean ingestion rate of seagrass detritus by holothurians was evaluated and carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes, carbon and nitrogen content and C:N ratio analyzed in H. tubulosa , P. oceanica detritus and surface sediment. Results showed that H. tubulosa is capable of ingesting from 30% to 100% of the detritus produced by P. oceanica meadows, depending on the holothurian density. The present paper reports the results of the methanol extract of Haplophyllum hispanicum Spach on single or repeated local 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol acetate (TPA) administration and in the oxazolone-induced contact-delayed hypersensitivity mouse ear edemas. Two topical anti-inflammatory aryl naphthalide lignans were isolated from the active fractions of the methanol extract. They were identified by spectroscopic methods, including 13C NMR and heteronuclear multiple bond correlation (HMBC), as diphyllin acetyl apioside and tuberculatin.
