Design of a Smart Car Park with PV generation and BESS for Grid-on and Grid-off Operation. The SMARTEP Project

The paper presents the design state of a smart car park shelter for electric vehicle in the campus of the University of Palermo. The car park is supplied by the main grid and by a 40 kW photovoltaic system and is equipped with a Li-ion battery storage system with capacity 42 kWh. The hybrid plant is designed in order to operate both in connection with the main grid and in stand-alone mode, supplying, in this case, all car park's loads and providing one recharge to an electric vehicle. El objetivo del proyecto es catalogar todas las colisiones de partı́culas, o eventos, registrados en el detector ATLAS y también simulados a lo largo de sus años de funcionamiento. Energy storage for further energy production has become a feasible option to deal with energy fluctuation, energy over production and energy shortcomings caused by the penetration of renewable energies. Hydrogen storage has been studied through mathematical model and simulation to predict its performance and technological feasibility. This thesis presents a model where a 5 MW electrolysis plant is simulated. The power plant consists on an electric input from renewable sources like wind turbines or photovoltaic panels. Counting Berg partitions via Sturmian words and substitution tilings

We develop the connection of Berg partitions with special substitution tilings of two tiles. We obtain a new proof that the number of Berg partitions with a fixed connectivity matrix is equal to half of the sum of its entries, [12]. This approach together with the formula of Seebold [10], for the number of substitutions preserving a given Sturmian sequence, shows that all of the combinatorial substitutions can be realized geometrically as Berg partitions. We treat Sturmian tilings as intersection tilings of bi-partitions. The essay proposes a contribution, from within the discipline of restoration, but at the same time open to interdisciplinarity, on operations in new territorial areas - peripheries, degraded centers. Restoration has the possibility of influencing them, nurturing new perspectives based on an ethical dimension, aimed at safeguarding - in the processes of regeneration - values such as the promotion of the person, the cultural dimension of development, the quality of life. The reflection engages on two concrete experiences of research and third mission operated on the Palermo outskirts of Brancaccio and on the town of Favara, in the province of Agrigento.
