V krugu Bogočelovečeskoj kulʹtury. Iz stranic issledovanij nad žiznʹû i tvorčestvom sv. Materi Marii (Skobcovoj)

2016

The present article was written on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the death of Mother Maria Skobtsova in Ravensbriick concentration camp. It aimed at presenting the Orthodox nuns path from a “prodigal intellectual” towards divinization. Mather Marias literary, artistic and social activity, which led to her death in a crematory furnace, is a perfect example of how to live a creative life which leads to Godmanhood.

Irži Vajlʹ i ego hrabraâ borʹba za sohranenie hudožestvennoj pravdivosti i čelovečnosti na fone nacistskoj i stalinskoj diktatury

2018

The study deals with the personality and the work of Jiří Weil, the writer, whose Jewish roots and enthusiastic admiration for the Soviet Russia significantly marked his life before the war, the occupation in Protectorate, and also after the war. In the background of two criminal totalitarian regimes there are analysed inspirational streams and influences that shaped the creative groundswell of novels – Moscow – Border, Life with a Star and Mendelssohn is on the Roof. Among others wider attention is given to a brief description of the development of the Weil´s artistic methods and comparison of different points of view of the contemporary and present literary criticism on the listed works. …

Perspectives on freedom : normative and political views on the preconditions of a free democratic society

2018

In today’s society we seem to be confronted with renewed struggles about the ideal of freedom. After decades of wide-spread belief in the benefits of globalization, marketization, open borders, and de-regulation, we are now facing a countermovement consisting of various forms of populism and nationalism that promise to restore borders, security and identity. Both movements seem to be informed by problematic conceptions of freedom: globalization and marketization are often accompanied by an ‘atomistic’ picture of society, whereby self-sufficient individuals compete in free markets, which neglects the social, political and cultural preconditions of individual freedom, and this can lead to fee…

Ultreya, suseya, Santiago!” Viaggio e spazialità ne La ballata dei pellegrini

2020

The contribution critically and from a geographical perspective discusses the connection between propaganda comics and cartoons in the period of twentieth-century totalitarianisms. The way in which space real and symbolic is implicated through the rhetoric and dialectics of power in social economic and identity dynamics is then explored. In order to study some aspects of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela from the point of view of cultural geography in Spain the chapter takes into consideration a literary text the autobiographical novel "The pilgrims' ballad" by the French writer Edith De La Héronnière first published in 1993 and translated into Italian in 2004. The novel recounts the experience of the Jacobean pilgrimage carried out by the author in the nineties together with three traveling companions starting from a French journey. In particular through the analysis of some parts of the text the ways in which the narration constructs and describes the physical and symbolic space of the pilgrimage are investigated. In this way it is possible to explore the way in which peculiar attributions of meaning inscribe the experience of pilgrimage in a symbolic universe that is both personal and collective at the same time.

The way in which space real and symbolic is implicated through the rhetoric and dialectics of power in social economic and identity dynamics is then explored.

Rose senza perché. Hannah Arendt e le "fabbriche della morte".

2020

The figure of the Arendtian survey can be identified in the idea of the incomparability of the totalitarian phenomenon compared to previous forms of authoritarianism, for multiple and various reasons. Among these it is precisely the creation of the extermination camps, the systematic annihilation of human beings, the quid that makes totalitarianism irreducible to any political phenomenon of the past: the concentration camps, expression of nihilistic achievement, are for Arendt the event which, marking a clear historical fracture, stops the continuity of our tradition interrupted precisely by the realization of its own nihilistic dynamics.

2017

***Totalitarianism and dictatorship: Arendt to read chilean’s recent history***This article seeks to expose and discuss the pertinence or inpertinence of two key concepts in the thinking of Hannah Arendt, to describe and understand fundamental processes of Chile's recent history: In one hand, 'totalitarianism' as a regime founded on Terror to refer to the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet that took place between 1973 and 1989. In other hand 'labor society' as a form of post-totalitarian society, oriented to labor and consumption, to describe one of the central aspects of the neoliberal society that the Chilean dictatorship installs.

‘Banality of evil’ was a concept introduced by Hannah Arendt in order to characterize a new form of wickedness embodied in people as Adolf Eichmann and others nazis crimin…

Oświata w warunkach polskiej sowieckiej autonomii w ZSRS w latach 1925-1939

2017

Oświata w stalinowskim Związku Sowieckim była jednym z najważniejszych narzędzi indoktrynacji obywateli wszystkich narodowości. Ponad 1,2 min.
