Mazadaptīvu personības iezīmju saistība ar organizācijas pilsonisko uzvedību

2020

Application of the Chinese Version of the BIS/BAS Scales in Participants With a Substance Use Disorder: An Analysis of Psychometric Properties and Co…

2020

Carver and White developed the Behavioral Inhibition/Behavioral Activation Scales (the BIS/BAS Scales) based on Reinforcement Sensitivity Theory proposed by Gray. Subsequent studies proposed that substance abuse was closely related to Behavioral Inhibition System (BIS) and Behavioral Activation System (BAS). However, researches on the psychometric properties of the BIS/BAS scales in clinical samples are scarce. The present study was conducted to analyze the applicability of the BIS/BAS scales in a sample suffering from a substance use disorder (SUD) and undergoing treatment in compulsory detoxification institutions (n = 1117). Meanwhile, 822 community residents were selected for comparison.…

Do Physiological Responses and Personality Traits Relate to Auditory Perceptual Learning in Musicians and Non-Musicians?

2009

Peripheral nervous system can influence learning and memory functions by increasing the activity level (‘arousal’) of the system with increasing task difficulty. Several studies show that musicians discriminate auditory stimuli more effectively both neurally and behaviourally. Yet, the effects of individual peripheral nervous responses or personality during auditory learning have not been studied in musicians. In this paper, we show preliminary evidence on physiological differences between musicians and non-musicians during auditory perceptual learning. Results suggest that musicians have higher change in skin temperature and heart rate between resting state and active auditory discriminati…

Music preferences based on audio features, and its relation to personality

2009

Recent studies have summarized reported music preferences by genre into four broadly defined categories, which relate to various personality characteristics. Other research has indicated that genre classification is ambiguous and inconsistent. This ambiguity suggests that research relating personality to music preferences based on genre could benefit from a more objective definition of music. This problem is addressed by investigating how music preferences linked to objective audio features relate to personality. Participants (N = 354; 165 males) completed a personality measure and rated their preference to 120 music clips from various music (sub-)genres (e.g., classical, rock). Principle C…

Assessing Personality in SLA: Type- and Trait-Focused Approaches

2022

The study of personality has long been one of the major themes in Psychology. Nevertheless, within the field of Second Language Acquisition (SLA), this research area has not received a lot of recognition, despite the strong ties of both disciplines. The objective of this paper is to describe the concept of personality and its role within the SLA field, as well as to outline the dominating research methodologies that are based on distinctive theoretical approaches. For this purpose, in Section 1 of the paper, the basic term of personality is defined, and its role in the process of foreign language acquisition is described, together with an outline of the most frequent problems encountered in…

Personības iezīmju saistība ar apmierinātību ar pāru attiecībām

2022

Pētījumā piedalījās 109 psihoterapeiti vecumā no 28-59 gadiem,118 citu profesiju pārstāvji vecumā no 30-57 gadiem, 45 psihoterapeitu klienti, vecumā no 18-58 gadiem. Pētījumā tika izmantoti šādi instrumenti: “Tests radošai domāšanai-attēlu veidošana” (Test of Creative Thinking – Drawing Production; TCT-DP; Urban & Jellen, 1995), Lielā Piecinieka aptauja (The Big Five Inventory; John, Donahue & Kentle, 19…

Riskantas seksuālas uzvedības saistība ar personības iezīmēm jauniešiem un jauniem pieaugušajiem vecumā no 18 līdz 29 gadiem.

2018

Veiktā pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādas sakarības pastāv starp Lielā piecinieka personības iezīmēm, impulsivitāti un riskantu seksuālu uzvedību. Datu ievākšanai tika izmantotas divas aptaujas: Latvijas Personības aptauja (LPA-v3, Perepjolkina & Renģe, 2013); Impulsivitātes aptauja (UPPS Impulsivity Scale, Whiteside & Lynam, 2001), ko Latvijā adaptējusi A. Caune, 2008. gadā, un riskantas seksuālas uzvedības noteikšanai tika uzdoti trīs jautājumi: cik gados tika uzsākta dzimumdzīve, cik seksuālo partneru ir bijis dzīves laikā un cik bieži pēdējo 6 mēnešu laikā tika lietots prezervatīvs. Pētījumā piedalījās 45 respondenti (33 sievietes, 12 vīrieši) vecumā no 19 līdz 29 gadiem (M = 23,1).…

Paths from socioemotional behavior in middle childhood to personality in middle adulthood.

2012

Continuity in individual differences from socioemotional behavior in middle childhood to personality characteristics in middle adulthood was examined on the assumption that they share certain temperament-related elements. Socioemotional characteristics were measured using teacher ratings at ages 8 (N = 369; 53% males) and 14 (95% of the initial sample). Personality was assessed at age 42 (63% of the initial sample; 50% males) using a shortened version of the NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI); the Karolinska Scales of Personality (KSP); and the Adult Temperament Questionnaire (ATQ). Three models were tested using structural equation modeling. The results confirmed paths (a) from behavioral …
