Structure and dynamics of RNA guanine quadruplexes in SARS-CoV-2 genome. Original strategies against emerging viruses

Guanine quadruplexes (G4) structures in viral genome have a key role in modulating viruses’ biological activity. While several DNA G4 structures have been experimentally resolved, RNA G4s are definitely less explored. We report the first calculated G4 structure of the RG-1 RNA sequence of SARS-CoV-2 genome, obtained by using a multiscale approach combining quantum and classical molecular modelling and corroborated by the excellent agreement between the corresponding calculated and experimental circular dichroism spectra. We prove the stability of RG-1 G4 arrangement as well as its interaction with G4 ligands potentially inhibiting viral protein translation.

The present paper examines the transfer of nomino-adjectival collocations based on the word ‘femme’ (‘woman’) in the literary translation from French into Italian and Polish. The lexical connection analysed in the article can be defined as the habitual juxtaposition of a word with another word (or words) that has a significant frequency in a given language. The research corpus comprises seven Michel Houellebecq’s novels written originally in French and their Italian and Polish versions. In the opinion of many translation scholars, when evaluating the quality of the translation it is essential to distinguish between language errors and translation errors, wherein translational errors should have a decisive impact on the assessment of the translation. Šajā darbā tiek pētīta kultūras atsauču atveide audiovizuālajos tulkojumos (AVT). Šajā pētījumā tiek izmantotas lingvistiskā satura analīze, kontrastīvā analīze un multimodālā diskursa analīze. Pētījuma korpusu veido kultūras atsauces, atklātas animācijas filmās "Šreks". Atsauces tika iedalītas reālajās un intertekstuālajās atsaucēs. Korpusa izpēte parādīja, ka animācijas filmās "Šreks" atrodamo kultūras atsauču atveidē izmantotas 14 tulkošanas stratēģijas, no kurām visbiežāk tika izmantotas svītrošanas, adaptācijas un vispārināšanas stratēģijas. Resum: Aquest article és un estudi del model de llengua de quatre traduccions del cant 6è de l’Odissea al català. Les quatre traduccions estudiades són les de Carles Riba publicades en 1919 i 1948, la traducció de Joan Aymerich de 1997 i la de Joan F. Mira de 2011. L’estudi es realitza amb instruments de la lingüística de corpus i des d’una perspectiva descriptiva. Els instruments de la lingüística de corpus ens serveixen per a delimitar aspectes traductològics relacionats amb la simplificació, l’explicitació, la normalització o la interferència i concretats en l’ús dels lemes nocionals en les quatre traduccions.
