Test R-W jako trafne narzędzie w badaniach przesiewowych z zakresu psychologii pracy
2018
The R-W test is a tool examining the speed and accuracy of thinking used in labor psychology. It is described as a tool „filled with the intellectual component”, however, there is no validation data in the literature confirming that the R-W test exam some aspect of intellectual abilities. To fill this gap, validation studies were conducted. In the fi rst one, conducted on a group of drivers (N=105), the R-W test relationship with the complex reaction time, attention, as well as the participants level of education were revealed. In study 2 conducted on a group of students (N=150) the relationship between the R-W test and fl uid intelligence, perceptivity and attention, as well as anxiety as …
The transportation system in the Sicilian touristic development
2006
Nowadays the society is based on the people and goods mobility, so that results necessary guarantee the efficiency of the transportation system as accessibility and mobility in the territory. The history of tourism in a territory is tightly connected to the evolution of its transportation system; we can affirm that is not present a tourist place, archaeological monument or other tourist attraction if the same are not somehow accessible. In every case the logical bond between transports and tourism must not be found in the simple relationship cause-effect between the transport evolution and the economic development of a territory, but in the complexity of the interdipendence relationships be…
High-speed rail in China and its territorial impact
2011
International audience; China has started a massive development of high-speed rail projects, as part of a stimulus package, to ease congestion on tracks and in the air, and to limit emission of greenhouse gases. It will affect the geography of China and on its cities. Experiences gathered in France by researchers of the " TGV effect " are put forward as questions to foster research on the changes induced by high-speed rail. A " shrinking of China " has begun. The 505 km Zhengzhou to Xi'an line has cut the travel time between these two cities from 6 to 2 hours. The 1069 km Wuguang line has slashed from 10,5 hours to 3 the travel time between Wuhan and Guangzhou. By making it easier to move p…
Moving around the Philippines
2012
International audience; Visitors to Manila are quickly aware of the traffic jams and impediments to efficient transport within the capital region of the Philippines. Hours seem to be lost in traffic, and public transportation is very crowded. What are the reasons for these difficulties? Poor planning, lack of enforcement of the rules of circulation, an excessive rate of motorization, an insufficient development of quality public transit? What should be the role of "informal" transport (trisikel, pedicab, jeepneys) in a system of mobilities that should remain fair to all, rich and poor alike? The same set of questions arises for the mobility across the country. As an archipelago, and a count…
A two-phase insertion technique of unexpected customers for a dynamic dial-a-ride problem
2006
Abstract This work deals with a dynamic dial-a-ride problem with time window constraints. In particular, new unplanned requests for service may arise at a vehicle stop and the driver must decide in real-time whether to accept or reject them. For this problem, we have developed a two-phase insertion algorithm based on route perturbations: the first phase, which is run off-line when the vehicle moves between two successive stops, aims at creating a feasible neighborhood of the current route; while the second phase, which is run in real-time every time a new request occurs, inserts, when possible, the delivery stop of the new customer in the current route.

Energy efficient model for biogas production in farm scale
2011
Energy efficient solutions for six farm biogas production was found by calculating mass and energy balance in different scenarios. Raw materials in biogas production were cow manure and grass silage that were produced in these farms. There were calculated mass and energy balances on average for one year biogas prouduction that consisted of grass silage production, raw material transportation and biogas production in the biogas plant. In addition, direct greenhouse gases from biogas production were estimated. The direct mass and energy flows were calculated. It turned out that one input energy unit can produce 5.0 to 5.5 energy units as heat and electricity. Biogas reactor consumed heat from…
Zmiany w układzie sieci transportowych regionów administracyjnych Śląska
2021
Celem opracowania jest charakterystyka zmian zachodzących w ostatnich latach na sieciach transportowych Śląska. Przedmiotem zainteresowania są podstawowe gałęzie transportu, a zwłaszcza sieci transportu drogowego i kolejowego. Ponadto artykuł ukazuje stopień zainwestowania infrastruktury transportowej, jej braki i priorytety inwestycyjne najbliższych lat. Opracowanie, pod względem metodycznym, ma charakter przeglądowego studium opisowo-faktograficznego, wykorzystującego aktualne dane statystyczne i miejscami nawiązującego do rozwoju historycznego analizowanych sieci transportowych Śląska.
Badania historyczno-systemowe procesów w wielkich społeczno-terytorialnych systemach: metody modelowania semantycznego w sektorze transportu
2017
Artykuł prezentuje metody modelowania semantycznego procesów zachodzących w sektorze transportu państw członkowskich UE i analizę historyczno-systemową grupy systemów terytorialno-społecznych (STS)w porównywaniu z innymi systemami. Za podstawę przyjęto semantykę opartą na taksonomii transportu kolejowego. Badano zmiany infrastruktury i pracy przewozowej na tle procesów wytwarzania PKB. Analizą objęto retrospektywnie okresy 30-, 20- i 15-letnie. Modelowanie identyfikuje zmiany fazowe w STS, obiektywizuje oceny wpływu czynników geopolitycznych na rozwój i trendy przed- i pokryzysowe.
