Saturation and coherence effects in the modified KGBJS equation
2013
We solve the modified non-linear extension of the CCFM equati on KGBJS equation numerically for certain initial conditions and compare the resulting gl uon Green functions with those obtained from solving the original CCFM equation and the BFKL and BK equations for the same initial conditions. We improve the low transversal momentum behaviour of the KGBJS equation by a small modification.
Burnout prevalence in pediatricians of general hospitals
2008
Highly tunable optically switched time delay line for transversal filtering
2003
A novel tunable dispersion device, based on two chirped fibre gratings subjected to non-uniform magnetic fields, is presented. A large degree of tunability is achieved from 250 to 750 ps/nm. This is used to demonstrate RF filtering in the 3-11 GHz range.
Advanced Optical Processing of Microwave Signals
2005
The authors present a review on the recent approaches proposed to implement transversal RF filters. Different tunable transversal filters consisting of wavelength tunable optical taps and those employing the tunability of dispersive devices are presented showing their high-performance characteristics. A comprehensive review of the fundamentals and a discussion on the main limitation of these structures are also included.
Preparing students to participate to the didactic activities of university teacher
2016

Glassy dynamics in confinement: planar and bulk limits of the mode-coupling theory.
2014
We demonstrate how the matrix-valued mode-coupling theory of the glass transition and glassy dynamics in planar confinement converges to the corresponding theory for two-dimensional (2D) planar and the three-dimensional bulk liquid, provided the wall potential satisfies certain conditions. Since the mode-coupling theory relies on the static properties as input, the emergence of a homogeneous limit for the matrix-valued intermediate scattering functions is directly connected to the convergence of the corresponding static quantities to their conventional counterparts. We show that the 2D limit is more subtle than the bulk limit, in particular, the in-planar dynamics decouples from the motion …
Efficiencies of logical Bell measurements on Calderbank-Shor-Steane codes with static linear optics
2019
We show how the efficiency of a logical Bell measurement (BM) can be calculated for arbitrary Calderbank-Shor-Steane (CSS) codes with the experimentally important constraint of using only transversal static linear-optical BMs on the physical single-photon qubit level. For this purpose, we utilize the codes' description in terms of stabilizers in order to calculate general efficiencies for the loss-free case, but also for specific cases including photon loss. These efficiencies can be, for instance, used for obtaining transmission rates of all-optical quantum repeaters. In the loss-free case, we demonstrate that the important class of CSS codes with identical physical-qubit support for the t…
Fluids in extreme confinement.
2012
For extremely confined fluids with two-dimensional density $n$ in slit geometry of accessible width $L$, we prove that in the limit $L\to 0$ the lateral and transversal degrees of freedom decouple, and the latter become ideal-gas-like. For small wall separation the transverse degrees of freedom can be integrated out and renormalize the interaction potential. We identify $n L^2 $ as hidden smallness parameter of the confinement problem and evaluate the effective two-body potential analytically, which allows calculating the leading correction to the free energy exactly. Explicitly, we map a fluid of hard spheres in extreme confinement onto a 2d-fluid of disks with an effective hard-core diame…
