ber die Bedeutung der Plasmaproteinbindung fr Verteilung und Wirkung von Tranquillantien vom Benzodiazepintyp

1977

This paper discusses the problem if the plasma protein binding of benzodiazepine derivatives can influence distribution and pharmacological activity of the drugs. The distribution of the benzodiazepines in the organism is influenced not only by the plasma protein binding of the drugs, but also by several other factors, especially since the drugs are mostly lipophilic. Thus, an effect of the plasma protein binding on the distribution can only be expected if the benzodiazepine derivative is highly bound to the plasma proteins. Thus results have been shown only for diazepam and chlordiazepoxid, which indicate an effect of the plasma protein binding on distribution and pharmacological activity,…

Integration of a Dirac comb and the Bernoulli polynomials

2016

Abstract For any positive integer n , we consider the ordinary differential equations of the form y ( n ) = 1 − Ш + F where Ш denotes the Dirac comb distribution and F is a piecewise- C ∞ periodic function with null average integral. We prove the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions of maximal regularity. Above all, these solutions are given by means of finite explicit formulae involving a minimal number of Bernoulli polynomials. We generalize this approach to a larger class of differential equations for which the computation of periodic solutions is also sharp, finite and effective.

On the Irrelevance of Expected Stock Returns in the Pricing of Options in the Binomial Model: A Pedagogical Note

2005

The option pricing theory is now either a standard or a main part of many financial courses on both intermediate and advanced levels. All the textbooks that include the option pricing theory present a detailed treatment of the binomial model. However, the binomial model, although quite simple and intuitive in appearance, is rather tricky when it comes to its practical implementations and applications. In fact, it is amazing that the students often get totally confused when it finally comes to the issue of the choice of the parameters of the binomial model. The reason for all this confusion lies in the fact that all the textbooks emphasize the irrelevance of the binomial option price from th…

Biocompatibility of alginates for grafting: impact of alginate molecular weight.

2003

Optimising microencapsulation technology towards the effective clinical transplantation has created the need for highly biocompatible alginates. Therefore, in this study the biocompatibility of different beads prepared from alginates with varying average molecular weight was examined. In some experiments the beads were covered with a multilayer membrane surrounded by an alginate layer. First of all, we found that beads made of a lower weight average alginate elicted a much stronger fibrotic response compared to beads made of a higher weight average alginate (LV-alginate > MV-alginate). The results were confirmed by the observation that the extent of tissue fibrosis was significantly increas…

1,5-Disubstituted 1,2,3-Triazoles as Amide Bond Isosteres Yield Novel Tumor-Targeting Minigastrin Analogs.

2021

[Image: see text] 1,5-Disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles (1,5-Tz) are considered bioisosteres of cis-amide bonds. However, their use for enhancing the pharmacological properties of peptides or proteins is not yet well established. Aiming to illustrate their utility, we chose the peptide conjugate [Nle(15)]MG11 (DOTA-dGlu-Ala-Tyr-Gly-Trp-Nle-Asp-Phe-NH(2)) as a model compound since it is known that the cholecystokinin-2 receptor (CCK2R) is able to accommodate turn conformations. Analogs of [Nle(15)]MG11 incorporating 1,5-Tz in the backbone were synthesized and radiolabeled with lutetium-177, and their pharmacological properties (cell internalization, receptor binding affinity and specificity, pla…

[68Ga]Ga-THP-Pam: A Bisphosphonate PET Tracer with Facile Radiolabeling and Broad Calcium Mineral Affinity

2020

Calcium minerals such as hydroxyapatite (HAp) can be detected non-invasively in vivo using nuclear imaging agents such as [18F]NaF (available from cyclotrons), for positron emission tomography (PET) and 99mTc-radiolabelled bisphosphonates (BP; available from 99mTc generators for single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) or scintigraphy). These two types of imaging agents allow detection of bone metastases (based on the presence of HAp) and vascular calcification lesions (that contain HAp and other calcium minerals). With the aim of developing a cyclotron-independent PET radiotracer for these lesions, with broad calcium mineral affinity and simple one-step radiolabelling, we develop…

Effect of actively targeted copolymer coating on solid tumors eradication by gold nanorods-induced hyperthermia.

2020

Efforts in the field of anticancer therapy are increasingly focusing on the development of localized and selective treatments. Photothermal therapy (PTT) can lead to a spatially confined death of cancer cells, exploiting an increasing in temperature generated after UV-NIR irradiation of peculiar materials. Herein, a new actively targeted gold-based drug delivery system, named PHEA-LA-Fol-AuNRs/Iri, was explored for hyperthermia and chemotherapy colon cancer treatment. Gold nanorods were stabilized using a folate-derivative of α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)-D,L-aspartamide (PHEA-LA-PEG-FA) as coating agent and then loaded with the antineoplastic drug irinotecan (Iri). The efficacy of empty and i…

Characterization and biodistribution of Au nanoparticles loaded in PLGA nanocarriers using an original encapsulation process

2021

Due to their imaging and radiosensitizing properties, ultrasmall gadolinium chelate-coated gold nanoparticles (AuNP) represent a promising approach in the diagnosis and the treatment of tumors. However, their poor pharmacokinetic profile, especially their rapid renal clearance prevents from an efficient exploitation of their potential for medical applications. The present study focuses on a strategy which resides in the encapsulation of AuNP in large polymeric NP to avoid the glomerular filtration and then to prolong the vascular residence time. An original encapsulation procedure using the polyethyleneimine (PEI) was set up to electrostatically entrap AuNP in biodegradable poly(lactic-co-g…

MANOTA: a promising bifunctional chelating agent for copper-64 immunoPET

2017

International audience; Improved bifunctional chelating agents (BFC) are required for copper-64 radiolabelling of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) under mild conditions to yield stable, target-specific imaging agents. Four different bifunctional chelating agents (BFC) were evaluated for Fab (Fragment antigen binding) conjugation and radiolabelling with copper-64. Two DOTA- (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid) and two NOTA- (1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triacetic acid) derivatives bearing a p-benzyl-isothiocyanate group were conjugated to Fab-trastuzumab - which targets the HER2/neu receptor - and the average number of chelators attached ranged from 2.4 to 4.3 macrocycles …
