The reaction of Rh2(O2CR)4 [R = CH3, CF3] with the chiral phosphane (1S,2S,5R)-(2-hydroxy-5-isopropenyl-2-methylcyclohexyl)(diphenyl)phosphane, (+)PPh2(CH−R*−OH) or its enantiomer (1R,2R,5S)-(2-hydroxy-5-isopropenyl-2-methylcyclohexyl)(diphenyl)phosphane, (−)-PPh2(CH−R*−OH), results in the specific formation of the products (P)-Rh2(μ-O2CR)2(η1-O2CR)2{η2-(+)PPh2(CH−R*−OH)}2 [P(+)1, R = CH3; P(+)2 R = CF3] and (M)-Rh2(μ-O2CR)2(η1-O2CR)2{η2-(−)-PPh2(CH−R*−OH)}2 [M(−)1, R = CH3; M(−)2, R = CF3] in a high yield. Dicyclohexyltin derivatives Cy2SnL (Cy = cyclohexyl) of the dipeptides H2L, glycylglycine, glycylalanine, alanylglycine, glycylvaline, glycylmethionine, glycylphenylalanine and glycyltyrosine, have been obtained by neutralization of Cy2SnO and H2L. The crystal structures of Cy2SnL (L = glycylglycinate, glycylalaninate) have been determined by single X-ray diffraction. Tin in each case has a distorted trigonal bipyramidal environment with the dipeptide acting as a tridentate NNO-ligand. In addition to previously studied {CuII3Gd6}, {CuII8Gd4}, {CuII15Ln7} and {CuII4Ln8} coordination clusters (Ln = trivalent lanthanide) containing pdm2− or Hpdm− ligands (H2pdm = pyridine-2,6-dimethanol) and ancillary carboxylate groups (RCO2−), the present work reports the synthesis and study of three new members of a fifth family of such complexes. The novel complexes [Zn(L)Cl] (1), [Cd(L)Cl] (2), [Hg(L)Cl] (3), {[Hg(L)Cl]·NaOH·2H 2 O} (3·NaOH·2H 2 O), and {[Hg 3 (HL) 2 Cl 6 ]·2H 2 O} (4) (L = -SCH 2 CH 2 NH 2 ) were prepared and investigated by means of IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structures of 1, 2, and 3·NaOH·2H 2 O show chelating N,S-coordination of the cysteaminate ligand, bridging S, and terminally coordinating Cl. Metal complexes of sulfanilamide derivatives. Spectroscopic characterization of the dichloro disulfathiazole methanol copper(II) complex

The synthesis and spectral characterization of the [Cu(Hstz)2(MeOH)Cl2] complex are described. Both polycrystalline powder EPR and single crystal EPR spectra recorded at room temperature show rhombic distortion with values of g1=2.25, g2=2.09 and g3=2.03 in agreement with a copper polyhedron, intermediate between trigonal bipyramid and square pyramidal.

A robust forward-displacement analysis of spherical parallel robots

The forward-displacement analysis of spherical parallel robots (SPRs) is revisited. A robust approach, based on the input–output (I/O) equation of spherical four-bar linkages, is proposed. In this approach, the closed-loop kinematic chain of a SPR is partitioned into two four-bar spherical chains, whose I/O equations are at the core of the analysis reported here. These equations lead to a trigonometric equation in the joint angles, which is solved semigraphically to obtain the joint variables for the determination of the moving plate orientation. Examples are included to demonstrate the application of the method.
