Biphenyl derivatives containing trimethylsilyl benzyl ether or oxime groups as probes for NO2 detection

[EN] Four probes based in the use of a biphenyl moiety and functionalized with trimethylsilyl benzyl ether (P1 and P3) and oxime (P2 and P4) groups have been prepared and tested as optical probes for the detection of NO2. Reaction of NO2 with acetonitrile solutions of P2-P4 resulted in the formation of aldehydes 7 and 8 with a concomitant redshift of the absorption bands. Probe P2 displayed a bathochromic shift of 45 nm upon reaction with NO2 and was able to detect this poisonous gas at concentrations as low as 0.02 ppm. Specific expression of a TRIM-containing factor in ectoderm cells affects the skeletal morphogenetic program of the sea urchin embryo

In the indirect developing sea urchin embryo, the primary mesenchyme cells (PMCs) acquire most of the positional and temporal information from the overlying ectoderm for skeletal initiation and growth. In this study, we characterize the function of the novel gene strim1, which encodes a tripartite motif-containing (TRIM) protein, that adds to the list of genes constituting the epithelial-mesenchymal signaling network. We report that strim1 is expressed in ectoderm regions adjacent to the bilateral clusters of PMCs and that its misexpression leads to severe skeletal abnormalities. Potential pitfalls in fetal neurosonography

Objective To present anatomic variants of the fetal brain and artifacts related to scanning techniques that could be misinterpreted as abnormalities on prenatal neurosonographic studies. Methods The findings were derived from fetal neurosonographic studies performed routinely from 16 to 36 weeks' gestation during the last 3 years, supervised by a sonologist specialized in neonatal cranial sonography. Results The pitfalls were divided into three groups: brain parenchyma, ventricular system and choroid plexus. Na wielu miejscach ewangelickie i katolickie teksty liturgiczne używane podczas zawierania ślubu mówią o błogosławieństwie. Także powszedni język stosowany w obydwu środowiskach kościelnych nie stroni od życzeń „błogosławieństwa”.
