Defects in III-N LEDs: experimental identification and impact on electro-optical characteristics

III-N light-emitting-diodes (LEDs) are subject of intense investigations, thanks to their high efficiency and great reliability. The quality of the semiconductor material has a significant impact on the electro-optical performance of LEDs: for this reason, a detailed characterization of defect properties and the modeling of the impact of defects on device performance are of fundamental importance. This presentation addresses this issue, by discussing a set of recent case studies on the topic; specifically, we focus on the experimental characterization of defects, and on the modeling of their impact on the electro-optical characteristics of the devices.

"Haluaisin syödä murheen pois" : tutkimus kuudesluokkalaisten kokemuksista tunteista ja syömisestä

Tunnesyöminen on tunteiden säätelyä syömällä. Siihen vaikuttavat yksilölliset, sosiaaliset ja ulkoiset tekijät, ja se ilmenee yksilöillä erilaisena ruokakäyttäytymisenä. Tutkimuksemme tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten kuudesluokkalaiset kokevat tunteiden vaikuttavan syömiseen, millaista on lasten tunnesyöminen ja onko tyttöjen ja poikien tunnesyömisessä eroja. Tutkimukseemme osallistui 98 kuudesluokkalaista. Toteutimme tutkimuksen kyselylomakkeella, joka jakautui eläytymismenetel-miin ja strukturoituun kyselylomakkeeseen. Trait emotional intelligence, self-reported affect, and salivary alpha-amylase on working days and a non-working day

his study examined the relationship between trait emotional intelligence (EI) and variation in psychological (positive affect: PA, negative affect: NA) and psychophysiological (salivary alpha-amylase: sAA) indicators among Japanese employees over 3 consecutive days (working day 1, non-working day, working day 2). The analyses revealed that higher trait EI was associated across the days with higher PA, but not with NA. Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin lasten sosioemotionaalisten taitojen kehittymistä lasten toiminnallisessa pienryhmässä. Pienryhmään kuului seitsemän (7) lasta ja sen toiminta perustui sovellettuun sosiodraamaan. Sosioemotionaalisten taitojen alueelta tarkasteltaviksi taidoiksi määrittyivät lasten kehitystarpeiden mukaan itsesäätely, tunteiden säätely, omien tunteiden tunnistaminen sekä empatiataito. Lisäksi selvitimme siirtyvätkö ryhmässä opitut taidot ryhmän ulkopuolelle kouluympäristöön ja miksi ryhmään osallistuneet lapset hyötyivät ryhmän toiminnasta eri tavoin.
