In questo saggio affronto il rapporto tra esseri umani e animali da un punto di vista epistemologico al fine di delineare una cornice ecologica, etica ed educativa entro cui inserire il dibattito attuale. Dopo un breve escursus storico e filosofico presento quindi la prospettiva zooantropologica. Prevention of Violence against Children and Psychosocial Models of Intervention: Network Analysis of an Inter-Institutional Service

This study describes an Italian service, the Inter-institutional Groups Operating against child Abuse and Maltreatment (GOIAM), which specializes in the treatment of child abuse. The GOIAM service is composed of 53 professionals divided into four different categories: social workers, psychologists, child neuropsychiatrists, and psychopedagogists. With the aim of detecting strengths and weaknesses of the operative model adopted by GOIAM, the whole service was analyzed through the application of social network analysis (SNA). Analysis of lipids in pelagic fish of Sicilian Channel and use of fatty acids as bacterial contamination markers

Lipids provide the expendable form of energy in marine ecosystem, and have an important role for the reproductive biology of fish. Also, lipids are important nutrients, versatile markers for marine trophic studies, bacteria markers etc. Among the lipids, several essential fatty acids are determinants for ecosystem health as well as for their known nutritional properties and prevention capacity of chronic diseases. New tailor-made bio-organoclays for the remediation of olive mill waste water

A systematic study aimed at obtaining new organoclays for the treatment of Olive Mill Waste water (OMW) has been performed. Several organoclays have been prepared by loading different amounts of the biocompatible surfactant Tween20 onto the K10 montmorillonite (MMT). Complementary kinetic and equilibrium studies on the adsorption of the Tween20 onto the MMT have been carried out and the characterization of the new tailor-made bio-materials has been performed by means of the XRD and FT-IR measurements. Giuseppe Samonà e la “spina dorsale” di Gibellina Nuova

Nel 1970 Giuseppe Samonà coordina il gruppo di progettazione formato da Vittorio Gregotti, Gianni Pirrone e Alberto Samonà per il Progetto del Centro civico, commerciale e culturale di Gibellina Nuova. Del piano è realizzato il municipio e poi, rielaborato e in altro luogo, il teatro. I monumenti, fondati su un asse pedonale in quota connesso a un suolo artificiale articolato, esprimono l’unità architettura – urbanistica e anticipano, per certi versi, una riflessione successiva del Direttore dello IUAV sulla dialettica fra urbano e rurale.

From this plan among the monuments just the town hall was built. The theatre was proposed later for a different place. The buildings should have been linked to a pedestrian axial gangway connected to an articulated artificial ground. The complex should have shown the unity between architecture and urban planning anticipating in some ways a later Samona’s reflection about the dialectic between urban and rural.

The International Open City Summer School of Piacenza 2015 involved the participants in the design of a spread museum of the agriculture between rural and urban areas, crossing the old town of Piacenza. The submitted project, processed in that workshop, is an occasion to call in question the different scales of the design and some linked themes like the measure, the porosity and the permeability of the architecture and the town. Settore ICAR/14 - Composizione Architettonica E UrbanaThe essay questions the future's possibilities to operate on the buildings of the second half of the twentieth century according to the Italian Code of Cultural Heritage (2004-2011). When arguing how to encourage the re-use of these artifacts which are often marked by short-life technology cycles obsolescence and abandonment the ambiguities and inconsistencies of current legislative procedures deeply stress the cultural role of research experiences that use project-oriented methodologies. The comparison between some Italian and other European cases highlights the role of a design approach in the construction of a transformative protection perspective for the built matter of the second half of the twentieth century. In a framework aiming to encourage a reconciliation between the recent built environment and the new paradigms of sustainability and circular economy architecture must recognize re-cycle practices as a main theoretical and procedural node. To modernize the late Modern built environment with contemporary construction components is not simply a matter of technical knowledge and expertise: but a theme with theoretical density aesthetic and ethical values. The architectural project in this field today must ask for greater congruence between the bureaucratic and administrative levels and the real consistency of this corpus. It is a matter of identifying strategies to equip it with capabilities meanings and contents remembering that demolition wastes have unsustainable environmental costs and uncertain results concerning the necessary new attribution of political and semantic meaning that these places await.
