Organophosphorus pesticides (chlorfenvinphos, phosmet and fenamiphos) photoelectrodegradation by using WO3 nanostructures as photoanode

2021

[EN] The photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) degradation of recalcitrant and toxic organophosphorus pesticides, fenamiphos, chlorfenvinphos and phosmet, has been performed by using an innovative WO3 nanostructure as photoanode. The nanostructure has been synthesized by anodization in acidic media in the presence of a very small amount (0.05 M) of H2O2, and its composition as well as its photoelectrochemical properties have been characterized using X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction as composition technique and photoelectrochemical impedance spectroscopy as photoelectrochemical analysis. After 24 h of experiment, a degradation of 95% of chlorfenvinphos, 99.9% of phosmet and 100% …

Exploring the apparent properties and Q-markers for quality control of Cornus officinalis

2023

Cornus officinalis Siebold & Zucc. has a high nutritious value and is widely used in food fields. To distinguish the quality of cornus in different areas, this research provided a new strategy for comprehensively evaluating cornus. As a result, 12 iridoid glycosides and 7 polyphenols were identified and quantified by UHPLC-Q-TOF/MS in 13 batches of samples from five different origins. Chromaticity analysis pointed out that pelargonidin-3-O-galactoside, total iridoids, and total polyphenols performed high relation with 1365*. Antioxidant activity and inhibition of α-glucosidase effect correlated with the chemical analysis suggested that iridoid glycosides and polyphenols should represent…

Validation of a multi-residue UHPLC-HRMS method for antibiotics screening in milk, fresh cheese, and whey

2022

Abstract The aim of this study was to develop a UHPLC–HRMS methodology as a suitable tool for the screening of antibiotics in milk, fresh cheese, and whey. Compounds were analysed using an Orbitrap Exactive™ analyser working at a resolving power of 50,000 FWHM in full scan, both in positive and negative electrospray ionization mode, and a high mass accuracy (

Advances in the analysis of legal and illegal drugs in the aquatic environment

2013

We review the current methods developed for the analysis of legal and illegal drugs (LIDs) and their metabolites in environmental samples. We discuss the advantages and the pitfalls of multi-class methods with emphasis on new strategies for sample preparation and recent technical developments. Finally, we present the applicability of these methods to the analysis of LIDs in protected environmental areas.

Deficit irrigation and maturation stage influence quality and flavonoid composition of ‘Valencia’ orange fruit

2016

BACKGROUND:Effects of continuous deficit irrigation (DI) and partial rootzone drying (PRD) treatments (50%ETc) in comparison with full irrigation (CI, 100% ETc) were investigated during ‘Valencia’ orange fruit maturation. Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/high-resolutionmass spectrometry was used to quantify hesperidin, narirutin, tangeritin, nobiletin, didymin and neoeriocitrin in the fruit juice and peel. RESULTS: No significant effect of irrigation was found on yield, juice soluble solids or acidity. Juice color was not influenced by irrigation or harvest date, whereas peel color increased during maturation and was more pronounced in CI and PRD fruits. Juice acidity reached a …

Untargeted metabolomics to explore the oxidation processes during shelf life of pork patties treated with guarana seed extracts

2019

The changes of metabolites in pork patties with different antioxidants added (control without antioxidants, 200 mg kg(-1) butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) and 250 mg kg(-1) guarana seed extracts (GSEs)) under modified atmosphere (80% O-2 and 20% CO2) for 18 days of refrigerated storage were evaluated. Untargeted metabolomic approach based on UHPLC-ESI-QTOF-MS analysis was applied. GSE phytochemical profile revealed a wide variety of compounds (caffeine, glycerol 1-propanoate, amino acids, alkaloids and glycerophospholipids), together with antioxidants (tyrosols, procyanidins and flavonoids). Important differences in BHT and GSE patties metabolomic profiles were found during storage. Most of t…

Analysis of Phenolic Compounds in Commercial

2019

Industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L. Family Cannabaceae) contains a vast number of bioactive relevant compounds, namely polyphenols including flavonoids, phenolic acids, phenol amides, and lignanamides, well known for their therapeutic properties. Nowadays, many polyphenols-containing products made of herbal extracts are marketed, claiming to exert health-promoting effects. In this context, industrial hemp inflorescence may represent an innovative source of bioactive compounds to be used in nutraceutical formulations. The aim of this work was to provide a comprehensive analysis of the polyphenolic fraction contained in polar extracts of four different commercial cultivars (Kompoti, Tiborszal…

Molecular Characterization of White Wines Antioxidant Metabolome by Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry

2020

International audience; The knowledge about the molecular fraction contributing to white wines oxidative stability is still poorly understood. However, the role of S- and N-containing compounds, like glutathione and other peptides, as a source of reductant in many oxidation reactions, and acting against heavy metals toxicity, or lipid and polyphenol oxidation as ROS-scavenger is today very well established. In that respect, the aim of the present study is to introduce an original analytical tool for the direct determination of the available nucleophilic compounds in white wine under acidic pH conditions. One step derivatization of nucleophiles has been realized directly in wines using 4-met…
