Ievads: Kardiovaskulārās slimības (KVS) mirstības ziņā joprojām ieņem pirmo vietu pasaulē. Latvijā 2014. gadā tās veidoja 64% no visiem nāves cēloņiem sievietēm un 49% no visiem nāves cēloņiem vīriešiem (OECD, 2017). Jo īpaši, zema blīvuma lipoproteīnu holesterīns (ZBLH) ir galvenais terapeitiskais mērķis, aizkavējot saslimšanu ar KVS. Nesen papildinātās dislipidēmijas ārstēšanas vadlīnijas nosaka ļoti augsta riska pacientiem ZBLH mērķa līmeni <1,8 mmol/L un sākotnējā ZBLH līmeņa pazemināšanu vismaz par 50%. The significance in Finland of shipping on inland waterways has been great. This is due to the topography of the country with its many lakes and to the fact that the vast waterways in their natural state were easily navigable. The construction of canals resulted in even more extensive interconnected inland waterways. This study explores the tasks of the steamships plying these internal waterways, their numbers and significance, and also changes and the reasons for these between different inland waterways, as regards different types of vessels and shipowners in the period from the 1870s to the 1960s. Abstract Objective: To conduct a secondary analysis to study the effects, those 4 months of aquatic resistance training have on self‐assessed symptoms and quality of life in post‐menopausal women with mild knee osteoarthritis (OA), after the intervention and after a 12‐month follow‐up period. Face and Content Validity of the Pictorial Scale of Perceived Water Competence in Young Children

An international group of experts have developed a pictorial tool to measure perceived water competence for children aged from 5 to 8 years old: the Pictorial Scale of Perceived Water Competence (PSPWC). The aim of the present study was to verify the validity of this tool. In the first part of the study, 120 children were interviewed to investigate face validity of the PSPWC to ensure that all pictorial items were understandable. Lihaskunto ja tasapainokyky nuorilla yksin- ja muodostelmaluistelijoilla

Taitoluistelijoiden tasapainotutkimuksen taustalla oli ammattivalmentajien mielenkiinto selvittää yksin- ja muodostelmaluistelijoiden eroja fyysisessä suorituskyvyssä, sekä sitä kautta tasapainokyvyssä. Tutkimus suoritettiin Jyväskylässä kevään ja kesän 2010 aikana. Tutkimukseen osallistui kaksi 9-14 -ikäisten tyttöjen koeryhmää, 20 yksin- ja 18 muodostelmaluistelijaa. He suorittivat fyysisiä ominaisuuksia sisältävät kenttätestit sekä tasapainotestejä sisältävät laboratoriotestit. Kenttätesteihin kuului vauhditon pituus, 30 sekunnin istumaannousutesti, yhden jalan kyykkyjen toistomaksimitesti yhden minuutin aikana sekä eteentaivutus.
