Entrepreneurs and Growth : An Option, Obligation or Obsession?
2018
“Growth” as a word carries a positive tone in it; human beings grow and mature, gaining new knowledge and resources, and so do companies. Growth, however, has never been for all. In competitive markets, some grow and others do not—or grow at slower pace than others. Furthermore, growth is a process that strains the capabilities and resources of an individual, company, and its acting entrepreneurs to their extreme. Growth means also learning and leaving behind something learned of possessed before. Growth disrupts the history and path of a single company and its entrepreneur. The text synthetizes the scattered literature in growth and entrepreneurship. A case study shows how growth is viewed…

Cadmium Metal–Organic Frameworks Based on Ditopic Triazamacrocyclic Linkers: Unusual Structural Features and Selective CO 2 Capture
2017
International audience; Two three-dimensional cadmium metal organic frameworks with general formula [Cd-2(L-1)(H2O)(3)](NO3)(0.7)(HCOO)(0.2)Br-0.1 (Cd2L1, L-1 = 1,4,7-tris(4-carboxybenzy1)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane) and Cd(HL2)(H2O)(2) (CdL2, L-2 = 1,4,7-tris(3-(4-benzoate)prop-2-yn-1-yl)-1,4,7-triazacydononane) based on 1,4,7-triazacyclononane N-functionalized by different arylcarboxylic acids were prepared under solvothermal conditions and characterized by single crystal X-ray analysis and porosity measurements. The crystal structure of Cd2L1 reveals a cationic net with a bcs topology,. and nodes are constituted by dinuclear cadmium complexes, in which each cadmium atom adopts a hexacoordin…
Cultural identification, perceived discrimination and sense of community as predictors of life satisfaction among foreign partners of intercultural f…
2014
The aim of this paper was to analyze how cultural identification, perceived discrimination and the sense of community are related to life satisfaction among foreign partners in intercultural families. The study compared 105 and 95 foreign partners in mixed families resident in Italy and Spain, respectively. The phenomenon in both countries displays similar sociodemographic aspects. In contrast to Social Identity Theory, the results show that in both groups the foreign partner's identification with their own ethnic-‐cultural group is not associated with life satisfaction, nor does it increase perce…
LA ‘RESISTENZA’ DELLA SINISTRA POPOLARE DINANZI AL FASCISMO: IL DIALOGO CON I SOCIALISTI NELLE PAGINE DEL «DOMANI D’ITALIA» (1922-1924)
2022
On December 24 1922, in the midst of the tensions of the post- war crisis and the reactionary offensive, and just two months after the “March on Rome”, the left-wing of the Italian Popular Party published in Milan the weekly «Il Domani d’Italia» (December 1922-July 1924) taking the title of the Chris- tian Democrat weekly (1901-1903) edited by Romolo Murri. The deep religious, democratic and moral crisis pushed the editors – among others Francesco Luigi Ferrari, Gerolamo and Luigi Meda, Cesare and Luigi Degli Occhi – to a political commitment to the struggle and the related social culture. The condemnation of fascist authoritarianism, the need for an internal clarification of the PPI agains…
L'allocation de ressources par élève dans le système éducatif français : point de vue d'un économiste
1993
This article examines why it is interesting to have a better knowledge of unit costs in educational systems, and to analyse differences between levels of education, between schools and between countries. It underlines the fact that few studies have been carried out up to now, and that little agreement exists among specialists concerning the methodologies for estimating costs. In spite or these deficiencies in available information, the author reviews existing case studies in France and in the world, and shows that extensive possibilities of improving the cost-effectiveness of ressources allocation still exist. Comparisons between France and its economic partners show that French unit costs …

Territorial Intelligence Communicational and Community System (TICCS)
2009
Information and Communication Sciences and Territorial Intelligence concept maintain multiple relations today. The method of territorial observation Catalyse, carried by the European Network of Territorial Intelligence, proposes a modelling under the shape of what Jean-Jacques Girardot calls a territorial intelligence community system (TICS, Girardot 2008). It is by the organization of the structuralization of the information, and by the conception of the process of communication that this kind of system takes life, and it is these aspects which we détail here to illustrate that both notions bring mutually. Experiments of research-action led in France, in Spain and in Europe feed these refl…

Horizons de justice de l'école, en France et aux États-Unis
2010
Social inequalities of educational careers are stronger in France than in the US, while most of the other indicators of equity are roughly equal. This can be related to the existence of paths in the French educational system, which do not exist in the more comprehensive american systems. More deeply, it can be related to the fact that equity in the US is conceived as fairness of the process of empowerment of students while it is conceived in France as the independence of the educational merit with the social capital.
