Affective Arousal During Blaming in Couple Therapy: Combining Analyses of Verbal Discourse and Physiological Responses in Two Case Studies

Blaming one’s partner is common in couple therapy and such moral comment often evokes affective arousal. How people attune to each other as whole embodied beings is a current focus of interest in psychotherapy research. This study contributes to the literature by looking at attunement during critical moments in therapy interaction. Responses to blaming in verbal dialogue and at the level of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) were investigated in two couple therapy cases with a client couple and two therapists. Narratives by women managers about spousal support for their careers

In this article we present a qualitative study of spousal support for the careers of women managers. The research material consists of the narratives of 25 women managers in Finland. The study has two main implications. Firstly, unlike previous studies, we use a narrative approach to demonstrate that a woman manager's career and spousal support are experienced as ambiguous and evolving over the career. The support was constructed by the women managers as flourishing, irrelevant, deficient or inconsistent. Explanations of success and failure in management learning : What can we learn from Nokia's rise and fall

International audience; In this paper, we study the changing explanations of success and failure over the course of a firm's history. We build on a discursive approach that highlights the role of narrative attributions in making sense of corporate performance. Specifically, we analyze how the Nokia Corporation was framed first as a success and later as a failure and how these dimensions of performance were explained in various actors' narrative accounts. Despite continuous international research and prevention efforts, bullying not only persists globally but also evolves into new forms, such as cyberbullying. In this methodological article, we present a new arts-based research tool, graphic vignettes, that can extend our understanding of peer aggression and other sensitive topics by facilitating participants’ creative reflection over the roles of self and others in different problem-based situations. Tutkielmassa selvitettiin yläkouluikäisten nuorten kokemuksia internetin ja kännykän välityksellä tapahtuvasta kiusaamisesta: kuinka paljon ja minkälaisia internet- ja kännykkäkiusaamisen muotoja nuoret ovat kohdanneet, ovatko koulukiusaaminen ja internet- ja kännykkäkiusaaminen yhteydessä toisiinsa sekä kertovatko nuoret kohtaamastaan kiusaamisesta ja kenen puoleen he kääntyvät. Tutkimus toteutettiin määrällisenä verkkotutkimuksena. Tutkimusjoukko koostui Pirkanmaan kolmen seutukunnan viiden yläkoulun 1162 oppilaasta.
