Lipid molecules are increasingly recognized as signals exchanged by organisms interacting in pathogenic and/or symbiotic ways. Some classes of lipids actively determine the fate of the interactions. Host cuticle/cell wall/membrane components such as sphingolipids and oxylipins may contribute to determining the fate of host–pathogen interactions. Nasiona zbóż w skali globalnej dostarczają więcej energii, niż którekolwiek z uprawianych roślin, gdyż są bogate w węglowodany. W gospodarce światowej dominują uprawy takich gatunków zbóż, jak pszenica, jęczmień, kukurydza oraz ryż. Natomiast w Polsce ze względów klimatycznych uprawia się głównie: pszenicę, żyto, pszenżyto, jęczmienie, owies oraz kukurydzę. La presencia de un conjunto significativo de fusayolas entre los ajuares de la necrópolis de la Edad del Hierro de Olival do Senhor dos Mártires (Alcácer do Sal, Portugal) plantea cuestiones de gran interés sobre los límites entre la función de estos elementos y su significado simbólico y escatológico. En este estudio se abordan esas cuestiones, analizando por un lado las características físicas, tecnológicas y morfológicas de las piezas, y por otro los posibles códigos simbólicos y religiosos que las convierten en elementos integrales del ajuar funerario en distintas comunidades del sur peninsular.
Unsupervised tissue classification of brain MR images for voxel-based morphometry analysis

In this article, a fully unsupervised method for brain tissue segmentation of T1-weighted MRI 3D volumes is proposed. The method uses the Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm and a Fully Connected Cascade Neural Network (FCCNN) classifier. Traditional manual segmentation methods require neuro-radiological expertise and significant time while semiautomatic methods depend on parameter's setup and trial-and-error methodologies that may lead to high intraoperator/interoperator variability. This paper extends the studies published to date by performing an analysis of the causal relationships between sovereign CDS spreads and the estimated conditional volatility of stock indices. This estimation is performed using a vector autoregressive model (VAR) and dynamically applying the Granger causality test. The conditional volatility of the stock market has been obtained through various univariate GARCH models. Recent theories of mindreading explain the recognition of action, intention, and belief of other agents in terms of generative architectures that model the causal relations between observables (e.g., observed movements) and their hidden causes (e.g., action goals and beliefs).
