Volatile organic compounds in truffle (Tuber magnatum Pico): Comparison of samples from different regions of Italy and from different seasons

AbstractIn this paper volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from Tuber magnatum fruiting bodies were analyzed using a PTR-TOF-MS instrument. The aim was to characterize the VOC's profile of the fruiting bodies and identify if any VOCs were specific to a season and geographical areas. Multiple factorial analysis (MFA) was carried out on the signals obtained by MS. Experiments using ITS region sequencing proved that the T. magnatum life cycle includes the formation of fruiting bodies at two different times of the year. Centrality-dependent forward J/ψ production in high energy proton-nucleus collisions

Forward $J/\psi$ production and suppression in high energy proton-nucleus collisions can be an important probe of gluon saturation. In an earlier work we studied this process in the Color Glass Condensate framework and showed that using the Glauber approach to extrapolate the dipole cross section of a proton to a nucleus leads to results closer to experimental data than previous calculations in this framework. Here we investigate the centrality dependence of the nuclear suppression in this model and show a comparison of our results with recent LHC data.

Tuberkuloze ir viens no vadošajiem nāves cēloņiem pasaulē. Par tuberkulozes izraisītāju uzskata M. tuberculosis. Praktiskajā daļā tiek veikti Zāļu jutības testi (ZJT) uz Lēvenšteina-Jensena barotnēm ar M. tuberculosis celmiem, lai noteiktu to rezistenci, kā arī tika apstrādāti rezultāti, kas bija iegūti un apkopoti SIA „RAKUS” Tuberkulozes un plaušu slimību centra Mikobakterioloģijas laboratorijas informācijas sistēmā(LIS). Statistikas analīzē tiek pierādīts, ka pasaulē un Latvijā saslimstības ar tuberkulozes gadījumu skaits samazinās un, savukārt, izārstēto cilvēku skaits paaugstinās. Truffles are ectomycorrhizal Ascomycota fungi belonging to the Tuberaceae family and more specifically to the Tuber genus. More than thirty Tuber species are currently described in Europe. In this thesis, we specifically focused on the Tuber aestivum-uncinatum model. This truffle is commonly called "Burgundy Truffle" and has a gastronomic and cultural interest.The first part of this thesis focused on the taxonomic status of the Burgundy truffle (Tuber uncinatum).
