Scopo Negli ultimi anni la terapia transcranica ad ultrasuoni focalizzati guidati da risonanza magnetica (tcMRgFUS) per il trattamento di disordini neurologici quali il tremore essenziale (ET) e il Parkinson tremorigeno (PD) è stata effettuata utilizzando esclusivamente scanner RM da 3T. Presentiamo i risultati ottenuti con il primo sistema tcMRgFUS mai integrato con uno scanner RM da 1.5T. Materiali e metodi 23 pazienti (19 ET; 4 PD) sono stati selezionati per essere sottoposti a tcMRgFUS (talamotomia monolaterale; target: nucleo ventrale intermedio, VIM). Scopo La terapia dei disordini neurologici mediante tcMRgFUS è stata effettuata utilizzando esclusivamente scanner RM da 3T. Utilizzando uno scanner RM da 1.5T la qualità delle sequenze morfologiche utilizzabili per la pianificazione di questi trattamenti è risultata essere soddisfacente utilizzando la bobina body RF (quella utilizzata con scanner 3T). Tuttavia l'SNR delle sequenze utilizzate per la termometria RM è risultato inferiore allo standard accettabile per i trattamenti. Abstract The resitivity change of ultra thin metals under air exposure is used for vacuum or inert gas packaging control. In order to reach low cost, single use applications, few nm thin Aluminum layers were deposited on PET substrates and combined with wireless electronic readout circuitry. The sensor respose is characterized by resistance changes and explained in terms of multiphase diffusion mechanisms which are very sensitive to technological parameters.

Problēmas būtība. Ādas vēži ir vieni no izplatītākām vēžiem Pasaulē. Katru gadu atklāto ādas vēžu skaits strauji pieaug, pētījumi norāda, ka melanomai visstraujākais pieaugums ir gaišādainiem cilvēkiem. Klimatisko apstākļu dēļ, strauji pieaug ultravioletā starojuma daudzums, un pēc 20-30 gadiem UV indekss var sasniegt bīstamo līmeni, kas krietni paaugstinās ādas vēžu saslimstības risku. Saslimstība ar melanomu Latvijā un pasaulē ir augsta, un tās viens no galvenajiem izraisošajiem iemesliem ir ultravioletā starojuma iedarbība. 2012. gadā Latvijā melanomas pacientu uzskaitē ar pirmo reizi dzīvē diagnosticētu melanomu tika iekļautas 213 personas, kopā melanomas uzskaitē gada beigās bija 1967 personas (Slimību profilakses un kontroles centrs, 2014). Šis darbs dod priekšstatu par ultravioletā starojuma ietekmi un tā izraisīto kaitējumu, iedzīvotāju sauļošanās paradumiem solārijā un saulē, kā arī farmaceitu viedokli par cilvēku informētību šajā jomā. Synthesis of nanostructured protein–mineral-microcapsules by sonication

We propose a simple and eco-friendly method for the formation of composite protein–mineral-microcapsules induced by ultrasound treatment. Protein- and nanoparticle-stabilized oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions loaded with different oils are prepared using high-intensity ultrasound. The formation of thin composite mineral proteinaceous shells is realized with various types of nanoparticles, which are pre-modified with Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) and subsequently characterized by EDX, TGA, zeta potential measurements and Raman spectroscopy.
