The need for internships and school practices as a method of bridging the gap between education and industry in Romania

2017

Abstract This paper presents the current situation of school practice and internships as ways of reducing the gap between the labor market and education. In the first part, there is highlighted the current situation of Romania comparing with other European countries when it comes about graduates finding a job in their field of studies. Among the biggest issues encountered by a young graduate we see that "Lack of experience” play a big role in not finding a proper job in our country after graduation. So the need to reduce this problem is vital in order to ease finding a job in the studies areas for graduates. A list of advantages is presented to encourage internships/school practice among th…

Indagini briologiche in aree urbane: diversità briofitica dei centri abitati di Erice (Trapani) e Belmonte Mezzagno (Palermo).

2017

Bryologic surveys in urban areas: bryophyte diversity of the population centers of Erice (province of Trapani) and Belmonte Mezzagno ((province of Palermo). The bryophytic flora of the towns of Erice (Trapani) and Belmonte Mezzagno (Palermo) have been studied. The first consists of 53 taxa (42 mosses and 11 liverwort), two of which are new for the province of Trapani, the second of 40 taxa (38 mosses and 2 liverworts), one of which new for the province of Palermo. A comparison between the studied bryofloras and those of other Sicilian urban areas shows that Erice’s bryophytic flora is, given its size, rich in species and families.

Brutalismo: 4 taglie

2007

Bryophyte investigations in urban areas: diversity of bryoflora of Erice town.

2016

This work is part of a study of bryophyte floras of Sicilian towns that has highlighted the presence in these environments of interesting taxa from the taxonomic and phytogeographical point of view (1, 2, 3, 4). Given its location, perched at 750 m a.s.l. on the S. Giuliano Mount at the northwestern tip of Sicily, the town of Erice has a climate which, although typically Mediterranean, has a strong wet connotation for the frequent presence of fog, especially in the winter time. These features contribute to creating conditions particularly suited to host bryophytes that grow both on artifacts and on phorophytes present in the city and specially in the Balio urban park. The study has allowed …

Empty Urbanism: the bursting of the Spanish housing bubble

2015

The depth of the Spanish housing crisis manifests itself in the collapse of construction activity and in the amount of housing and land stocks. The geography of the crisis shows its widespread nature, and the intensity of the previous bubble explains spatial differences. Resulting from this collapse are some problematic areas of 'empty urbanism'. An enormous land bubble, emerging from the peculiar Spanish urban development model, was a key factor in the impacts - caused by the crisis - on the territory and land-use plans. The crisis has demonstrated the unsustainability of this and the urgency of change in the existing land-use plans.

Demographic Analysis of Bucharest-Ilfov Region

2013

Abstract This paper aims to achieve a study was to research, analyze and interpret statistical data, in conjunction with theoretical aspects that allowed assessment of regional information on population structure in the Bucharest-Ilfov. Bucharest-Ilfov region's population (2,264,865 inhabitants in 2012) is distributed inversely proportional to the size of two administrative entities (Bucharest - the capital of Romania - Ilfov county). Bucharest is the largest urban agglomeration in Romania, its population being 1,924,299 inhabitants, representing about 85% population of the region, more than 16.4% of the urban population of the country, or around 9% of the total population of Romania and ha…

Tivoli Amusement Park Tour Guide

2019

The Tivoli Amusement Park is one of the largest amusement parks in the World, the total area is 250 hectares. It includes many attractions, some are very recent and others were made several years ago, but all of them are still able to arouse curiosity and fun for young and old people. Some people says that it's the only 2nd oldest surviving amusement park, untouched until today, after the one of Dyrehavsbakken, near Copenhagen. But these are only rumors, because by visiting the Tivoli Amusement Park it will be possible to undoubtedly remove this thoughts. The Tivoli Amusement Park is divided into 5 large entertainment areas: the Cardo & Decumano, the Aniene Water Park, Villa d'Este, the…

Multiagent System for Detecting and Solving Design-Time Conflicts in Civil Infrastructure

2012

One typical source of problems in the Civil Infrastructure domain is the distributed and collaborative nature of the projects in which different profiles of engineers contribute with designs devoted to the interest of their field of expertise. Thus, situations in which there are different conflicts of interests are quite common. A conflict refers to a situation in which the actions of an engineer collide with the interests of other engineers. In this paper, we present a multi-agent system that, thanks to the use of ontologies and rules on those ontologies, is able to detect profilespecific conflict situations and solve them according to the preferences of the parties involved in the conflic…

Global architecture: rehabilitation and regeneration

2022

Using architecture as a "global phenomenon", holistically integrating solutions inspired by new scientific progress in the field of urban ecology, is a proactive way of responding to the challenges and precariousness of the contemporary city. In this paper, which illustrates a process of building and urban regeneration developed within the framework of the agreement between the University of Palermo and CICOP "International Centre for the Conservation of Heritage" with the research entitled "G.A. Transition&Regeneration "*, it is necessary to evaluate all the opportunities and benefits that the inclusion of green spaces and lungs bring to building contexts in a perspective of eco-sustai…
