Synthesis and application of β-substituted Pauson-Khand adducts: trifluoromethyl as a removable steering group.

The reaction between alkynes (I) and norbornadiene (II) affords the β-substituted Pauson—Khand adducts (III) as single regioisomers and the trifluoromethyl steering group can be easily removed in the presence of DBU and water.
Treatment of prepubertal periodontitis. A case report and discussion.

Abstract This paper reports the treatment of prepubertal periodontitis in a 3–year-old girl with Papillon-Lefevre Syndrome. Initially, the patient was found to have a myeloperoxidase deficiency and microbiological tests have identified Bacteroides and Fusobacterium, in 60% and 25%, respectively of the total number of microbial flora cultivated. The initial treatment was extraction of all the primary teeth with grade 3 mobility, scaling, root planing and daily subgingival irrigation with a 0.2% solution of chlorhexidine. Asymmetric Allylation/Pauson-Khand Reaction: A Simple Entry to Polycyclic Amines. Application to the Synthesis of Aminosteroid Analogues

Asymmetric allylation of o-iodoarylsulfinylimines has been achieved in high diastereoselectivities. The thus-obtained o-iodoarylhomoallylic sulfinamides participate in a subsequent Sonogashira coupling followed by a diastereoselective intramolecular Pauson-Khand reaction. In this way, tricyclic amines showing a unique benzo-fused indenyl backbone were obtained. The methodology has been applied to the synthesis of amino steroid analogues.

Il lavoro è stato realizzato nell’ambito dell’Azione 3 del progetto LIFE11 ENV IT 215 “RESILienza al cambiamento climatico nelle FOReste MEDiterranee”. In particolare, è stato implementato un sistema di monitoraggio attraverso indagini diacroniche sui principali contesti territoriali pre-forestali e forestali della Sicilia. L’analisi è stata condotta a livello di paesaggio in sei distretti forestali, rappresentativi delle principali categorie forestali della regione, quali i Sicani, le Madonie, i Nebrodi, l’Etna, l’area del Calatino (Sicilia SO) e l’isola di Pantelleria. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on tutkia liikuntaa opettavien opettajien ja kouluterveydenhoitajien käsityksiä moniammatillisesta yhteistyöstä toimintakyvyn edistämiseen ja Move!-mittauksiin liittyen. Kummatkin toimijat ovat keskeisiä oppilaiden toimintakyvyn edistämisessä sekä perusopetuksen opetussuunnitelmaan sisältyvän Move!-järjestelmän hyödyntämisessä. Tutkimus toteutettiin kyselytutkimuksena erikseen kouluterveydenhoitajille (N=192) ja liikuntaa opettaville opettajille (N=359). Carbon use efficiency variability from MODIS data

[EN] Carbon use efficiency (CUE) describes how efficiently plants incorporate the carbon fixed during photosynthesis into biomass gain and can be calculated as the ratio between net primary production (NPP) and gross primary production (GPP). In this work, annual CUE has been obtained from annual GPP and NPP MODIS products for the peninsular Spain study area throughout eight years. CUE is spatially and temporally analyzed in terms of the vegetation type and annual precipitation and annual average air temperature. In vivo recordings in the immature neocortex revealed spontaneous and sensory-driven oscillatory activity from delta (0.5-4 Hz) to gamma (30-100 Hz) frequencies. In order to investigate whether the resonance properties of distinct neuronal populations in the immature neocortex contribute to these network oscillations, we performed whole-cell patch-clamp recordings from visually identified neurons in tangential and coronal neocortical slices from postnatal day (P)0-P7 C57Bl/6 mice.
