Violent and/or delinquent women: a vision from the biopsychosocial perspective

Violence and/or delinquency in women have been masked to some extent by society. Thus, the main goal of this work is to deeply analyse the published works on these matters, in order to understand this phenomenon from a neurobiological perspective. Firstly, the theory of the cycle of violence as a facilitating mechanism of violence in women will be analysed, with a special emphasis on neuroanatomical correlates. Subsequently, the relation between drug consumption and violence in women will be explained. The diagnosis of the current state of conservation of Puya raimondii Hams in Arequipa, Perú. – The authors show the results of a survey carried out in Perù, Arequipe region, and Bolivia, on the geographical distribution of Puya raimondii Harms. After describing the systematic and nomenclature of the Andinian species, the study of the biological, ecological and conservation status of this endemic plant species has been performed, as well. They have also described the density population and the risk of genetic erosion caused of both natural and anthropic pressure. Finally they evaluated the use of this plant species as animal feeding, popular medicine traditional local use.

The Source of the Carbon Monoxide in the Classical Belousov-Zhabotinsky Reaction

CO and CO2 evolution was measured in a cerium and in a ferroin-catalyzed Belousov−Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction. These gases were stripped from the reaction mixture by a N2 carrier gas, mixed with H2, converted to methane on a Ni catalyst, and then measured by a flame ionization detector (FID). CO could be detected separately by absorbing CO2 on a soda lime column. In separate experiments it was proven that CO is produced in a reaction of BrO2• radicals with bromomalonic acid (BrMA). To this end BrO2• radicals were generated in two different ways:  (i) in the reaction HBrO2 + HBrO3 ↔ 2 BrO2• + H2O and (ii) by reducing HBrO3 to BrO2• by Fe2+. Il contributo analizza due testimonianze dell’architettura barocca nella Sicilia centro-orientale e presenta una sintesi delle riflessioni sorte durante l’esecuzione delle indagini diagnostiche e l’elaborazione dei progetti di restauro. In particolare, la ricerca, che trova nello studio storico-archivistico il suo determinate incipit, si sviluppa mediante un percorso conoscitivo che integra l’analisi dello stato di conservazione, la diagnosi delle forme d’alterazione e la scelta delle tecniche di restauro compatibili.
